But defeat in the capital would not be a disaster as Rovers could finish as low as 10th and still qualify via the Intertoto Cup, provided Reading and Portsmouth, who have not applied to take part, occupy eighth and ninth place.

I think the club will be concerned that an early start to our season and with such a wafer thin squad we might struggle to last the pace and could slip into trouble, especially with an inexperienced manager in charge. hope I am wrong and we bulk up the squad over the summer, but I have heard a little rumour that gartside is not bothered about Europe.

The Hibs game (25th July) is sandwiched between both Intertoto legs (21st/22nd and 28th/29th). If necessary, we'll play the U16's against Hibs.

May 10, 200719 yr but I have heard a little rumour that gartside is not bothered about Europe. see this is the problem I have here - if the argument is "let's not do Europe as it will mess up our season and stop us finishing high" then fair enough but in answer to that you have to ask "why do you want to finish high?" Answer - "to get into europe." But then.....it's a circuitous argument. Unless the fear is that next season we will be fighting relegation.....
