when you consider if we did not have sky money our income from ticket sales would be about 15 million I think it is a substantial amount of money.

Might find this interesting from one of my uni lectures, broadcasting payments each club received in the 2005/06 season:

 

taking into account that we only recieved 23m last season and probably less in the seasons prior

 

expenditure of 43m seem very high, we'd have to find 20m else where to break even.

 

i dont think tickets and merchandising would quite cut it...

 

i work it out as 10m from season/match tickets

 

And about 2m from merchandising

 

And 8m from errr????????..

what do we get from sponsorship ? reebok ?

 

and corporate stuff at the reeebok, conferences, weddings and shit ?

hopefully more than 8m...

 

but my point is, you can understand why we dont have much money to spend...

 

plus theres debt payments, which must be a few million...

do we not get extra money for our final league position as well?????

and prize money from Carling Cup Final, FA Cup appearances, etc.
