I must admit, I got a nice shirt as apresent off my son yesterday and even complemented him on his taste in clothing. The highlight of the day though was as I came out of the bathroom after my shower, the smell of bacon and eggs came wafting up the stairs. I dressed quickly and came down to the sight of said son sat watching the cricket with a tray on his lap and a full cooked breakfast! I had cereal!

I got tickets to a Wanderers play at the Octogon:

It's an excellent idea to commission a play about Bolton Wanderers. The Octagon Theatre and the Wanderers are synonymous with the town and we're looking forward to and relishing the prospect of two important institutions working together on such an interesting project'

It is New Year?s Eve, 1922, and as midnight approaches the neighbours gather in Spinners Lane, to wish each other all the best for the year to come.

Martha Platt is dreaming of a fancy Spring wedding, but Ted Aspinall, her fianc? is worried about short time looming. His brother, Jim, dreams of revolution and red flags on the Town Hall. For Annie Hilton and her family, this New Year?s Eve is the same as every other since 1918, when the telegram came from the War Office, with the worst possible news. Can anything lift the clouds?

As midnight chimes Bob Stott, the corner newsagent, reveals his New Year?s resolution ? in April he?s off to Wembley, to watch the Wanderers win the FA Cup. Has Bob gone crazy? In 48 years Bolton Wanderers have been in the FA cup final only twice, and lost both times. And this is certain to be the biggest final ever ? the brand new stadium can hold 120,000 and every team in the country will be busting a gut to be there.

This season Joe Smith and David Jack are scoring goals galore. Cup fever seizes the town as the Wanderers win game after game. The Wanderers are going to Wembley. West Ham United, champions of division two are the opposition. They are certain to have a massive following.

Who is going from Bolton? In Spinners Lane the neighbours club together, men and women, mill workers and unemployed, to hire their charabang. And Bob Stott decides to walk to London, bedecked with navy blue and white ribbons and wearing brand new irons on his clogs ? can he really walk 200 miles in six days?

With less than a week to go, Wembley is still not finished, will it be ready on time?!! Was it a good idea to employ 120 boy scouts to control a crowd expected to reach 120,000? And what do you do when you?ve booked your wedding in the afternoon on cup final day ? and even the vicar wants to go to the match?

i got the new home shirt! and my six year old made me an omlette, which she then ate!!!

I got a Fab Dad badge, home made card and beer.

All in all a good result

Breakfast = nowt.

Meal at F&B's was good though; tho' my dad managed to qualify for the FREE meal and not me!

I got a bottle of whisky off my 5 month old son.

Mind, they'll serve just about anyone at the P?kistani-owned general goods store near me. May I add that not all general stores located at the apex of road junctions are necessarily owned by persons of P?kistani origin, and that a good number of similar stores are owned and operated by persons of British origin. I merely stated the fact to embellish an otherwise lacklustre post.

(That should keep Crawley off my back)
