Why We Shouldn't Panic

Plenty of positives today, which I know may seem strange tonight but bear with me.

Cid - He will be as good as Ben Haim in 5 games. He was up against 2 very good quality strikers today and hardly put a foot wrong.

Little sam - realised VT was having a shocker and did something about it.

Newcastle - had enough luck to last them 5 games today, we were on the wrong end.

Amonst other positives, McCann looked keen and got stuck in, though admittedly our midfield lacks pace but I'm sure if I can see that Sammy can. Diouf still looks dangerous and Anelka can score any time he's given the chance.

What did p1ss me right off though was the amount of fans who got on their backs as soon as the 2nd went in. It's people like this who make me question why I still go. Of course they are entitled to an opinion since they have turned up and payed their money. But my God they are driving people away in droves the miserable pessimistic brainless w?nkers. Players who have started a bit slowly and gone a couple of goals down will find a crowd full of whingers is the perfect pick-me-up. Nob ends.

Give it 10 games and if we're n single figures I will print this post out and shove it firmly up my arse whilst stood at the bar in the East lower.

I'll join you.

Good post, spot on.

I may be pissed but I'll have you a very large amount of money that he won't. You seem to have confused the words wrong and right.

If you think that's bad, you should check out some of the forums. I didn't realise that we'd been relegated already!

i cant see it either, the lad cant win a header and free headers are very wayward.

faye and meite have to be future for the time being imo

It was his first game playing a new country, bit early to wite him off yet,

I'm not worried, we were shocking first half but in the 2nd (with a decent winger on) we were the betetr team.

Martins was the difference between the teams - thought he was excellent today.

All the back 5 were shaky. Difficult to poin the finger at any one in particular.

The main positive for me was McCann in the 2nd half.

we were shit on saturday,

where was the defence for the second goal ?

cid looked a long way short to me.

starting with vaz te was a mistake, if diouff can not get a game with some of the new signings available will he be starting when they are ready ?

j-lloyd did not fill me with confidence.

faye had a poor game.

at 3-0 they sat back and we looked better but we all know that is how sam plays the game so lets not carried away with that

too often at the end of last season we got blizted early

HOWEVER

it was first game of the season.

against fsa who knows our weaknesses was always going to be difficult

we had no luck whatsoever, even at 2-0 if the ref gives a penalty and sends the player off the game changes

anelka will score 20 goals this season if he stays

we have the new signings to come in

cid first game in the premiership

mccann seemed ok

onwards and upwards....

Worry for me is what happens in January when the ANC takes away Faye and Meite.

The pending signing of another Prem clubs cast off (Griffin) doesn't not excite me either.

Too early to panic but if the defence does not sort itself out I fear we may see little of our new two wingers. LSL will have a greater need to play defensive midfield players to boost our back line!

If anyone's interested, it'll be the bar at the end nearest the north stand 10 minutes before the rabotnicki game kicks off.
