We beat these on Weds and all will seem a little brighter...

Nolan has to play int he middle with McCann and leaving the wings for Diouf and one of our Scandi players.

Predictions?

same team as sat, except diouf for vaz and maybe meite for cid if fit.

Was I watching a different game on Saturday?

McCann for me looked an average squad player who had a half decent game in a awful team performance. I struggled to see what he offered new compared to the rest of our midfield squad.

SORRY YATSEY. i think mccann will be a good player for bolton, he's like some other new signings ,just needs time to get used to playing in a new system,

Well that's all our players then

The system that took us to seventh did fine for me

He surely has to play Nolan in the center when quicker ALTernatives are available.

Jussi

Hunt Cid/Meite Cid/Faye Samuel

Wilhelmsson Nolan MaCann/Faye Diouf

Anelka Davies

As we're away from home i think it'll be a case of sticking to what we know.

Jussi

Hunt - Faye - Meite - Samuel

Nolan - McCann Speed

Davies - Anelka- Diouf

Not sure we have 2 good enough centre-midfielders to play a 4-4-2. I'd stick with the system from last year.

For me there was few times in the 1st half where Newcastle's forwards were finding space between midfield and defence. They had an extra man in central midfield and thought Geremi, Butt and Smith all had good games. To me we played exactly how Allardyce would have wanted.

Don't share the optimism about McCann either.

Alonso didn't shine but thought his approach was good. He wants the ball, looks for the pass but granted not much came off for him. Only reservation is he doesn't look like a player who will mix it well.

Cid didn't look very commanding in the air but not writing him off yet.

JLS looks solid I suppose but it's like he plays within himself all the time. Praying for a 100% Gardner to come back but pessimistic on that front.

Jussi

Hunt - Faye - Meite - Samuel

Nolan - McCann - Speed

Helgusson - Anelka - Diouf

Assuming Meite is fit and Wilhelmsson and Braaten won't be thrown in just yet:

??...?.?Jussi

Hunt.?Cid?..Meite?Samuel

?..Campo?.?Faye

?Nolan...Speed...Diouf

?..?..?.Anelka

sounds about right although if Wilhelmsson is fit then i reckon he could start on the right at the expence of Nolan or Speed? Perhaps even drop speed back in for Campo.
