Jussi Jaaskelainen's agent has revealed that the Bolton goalkeeper would be interested in a summer move to Newcastle.

 

Jaaskelainen's contract expires at the Reebok Stadium at the end of the season and has rejected the offer of a new two-year deal.

 

The Finnish international is tempted at the prospect of linking up with his former manager Sam Allardyce at Newcastle.

 

His agent Peter Harrison told the Daily Mail: "Bolton have withdrawn their offer and there are no further talks planned.

 

"Jussi would be interested in joining a club like Newcastle, especially as Sam was his best manager at Bolton."

If I was his agent, I would try and get him sorted out in January at Newcastle, Big Sam may not last that long and the way their chairman was criticising the financial situation at the club last week, they may not have that much cash to pay him a "decent" wage
