Sourness

Andy Gray on sky sports said that Sourness is the right man to get us back on track. He has the right pedigree to do the job and wherever he has been he has won trophies.

I hope Gartside knows what he is doing :nea:

I was talking to a Liverpool fan on Friday night. He said Souness was one of the greatest players to wear the shirt but also, if he hadn't have gone when he did, he would've been one of the most destructive managers they'd even had.

Now I spoke to a Barcode on Saturday who didn't have a good word to say about him. Now, I don't actually speak to Dingles as a rule, but I bet if I did, they'd probably say similar comments.

I concede, I may have met folk who differ from the norm in their views, but I do doubt it.

the trouble is there is nobody else throwing their cap in the ring, he is available and

Gartside may think its the easiest option

pray tell

why do you think gartside may be interested in the easy option?

do you think he fancies a one way ticket to obscurityville?

Sammy Lee was the easy option !!

Sammy Lee was the easy option !!

Exactly. So, why would he go with the easy option again then?

Greame Souness as a manger has failed everywhere he has managed....

having worked with and in Liverpool for a number of years..I am certain of this mans credentials...

as a player he was a god... as a manager he was a arse....

what defines a failed manager?

Sammy Lee was the easy option !!

no

stringing brown and/or mcdonald along would've been the easy option

he brought lee in to take over from sam when he left

what defines a failed manager?

being sacked?

what defines a failed manager?

yes i am quoting but...

The four years which followed were uneventful for Souness and disastrous for Liverpool. There was little success on the field, with only a 2-0 victory in the 1992 FA Cup final over Second Division Sunderland, but poor tactics, ill-judged transfer dealings and poor man management caused the decline of one of the greatest football club in Europe.

I've supported Bolton Wanderers unquestioningly for over 40 years. If we appoint Old Whirling Eyes as manager now I will take my well-earned sabbatical.

I will return when he moves on in two years time. I hope we're not in League 2.

How did he fail at Blackburn?

How did he fail at Blackburn?

Only a promotion and a league cup victory to show for an outrageously expensively assembled squad of underachievers? Grabbi for ?7 million is the obvious one, not to mention Andy Cole (?7 million and ?80k a week) and Dwight Yorke (?67k a week), but rather than motivate the dressing room he alienated their best player at the time (lifelong fan and local boy David Dunn) and apparently attempted to break Dwight Yorke's leg in a tackle in training because he wasn't putting 100% in.

He's arguably failed everywhere he's been except at Rangers, which is only a two horse race anyway

Zulu, hard as it would be to do, I would be joining you

I really don't know what to do if he does come.

Any body got any wonderful suggestions as a protest (apart from the pitchfork one, obviously)? I have a season ticket and will be blowed if I'm not using it to the max this season.

Graeme Souness is NOT wanted for Bolton Manager

I have known Zulu for that long and he has been one of the most loyal of the loyal. P1sses me off that the club would consider appointing a manager who would have an immediate negative effect on attendances (especially the blind faith fans like Zulu). Hopefully, it's just paper talk.
