This is something similar to what I was preparing for the Bolton-Rabotnicki match. It was supposed to have "THANK YOU BWFC" on it

Zenit had a good few more than I thought they would and they made their presence felt, especially in the awful rainy conditions. But noone has had more than required one half of the lower tier of the away bit - Marseille had the most but even they only needed that relatively small bit as this shows:

so at best a thousand? What would really make the atmosphere would be a team having all the upper tier as well - so 3.5-4k, much like we had in Guimaraes and Marseille.

and while we're on the subject of Youtube, Jumbo, you need to know your Bolton history:

I was there for this one back in 1979 - I really was. but if you believe everyone who says they were there the 20,073 attendance would be more like 40,000 :blink: Note the fact that as he runs back to the centre spot the refree is clapping the goal - how often do you see that?!

But ultimately produced this, rated by many - maybe most - fans as the greatest atmosphere they've come across for a home game. The hatred for Wolves that night was so tangible it rolled down off the terraces like a tidal wave of venom.

I havent looked at the you tube links but for most of them I dont need to. I wasn't there for Frankies goal of the season, I was only 6 at the time but managed to get hold of the programme from the game then get it signed by Frankie at a sportsmans doo ( me mum has since spilt coffee all over it)

 

The Hull Game on a Friday night was THE greatest away game ever until I went to Bourgas. I have it on VHS and still stick it on every now and then after a few beers. Simply Unbelievable ! Even tho I remember at the time nearly wetting meself when the ref brought the police on the pitch I presume to ask his advice on whether the game should be called off. From what I heard after, the police advised the ref to continue with the game in fear of a riot. My most expensive away match ever. It cost me my job, as I phoned in sick then took the works van to drive up to Hull in. My boss called at home to see how I was doing and the unemployment line beckoned.

 

The Wolves play off game was especially sweet after we got banjoed in the away leg, but it pales in comparison compared to the two Bolton/ Wolves battles 2 years later. The only reason the ref didn't send anyone off IMHO was cos he thought it would be too cruel for either of them to miss the final.

 

I admit I had too look at the last one, to see which goal it was and I, as most Bolton fans would agree I am sure, had never seen anyone bend the ball round the wall THAT way before. The man was THE most gifted player I have ever seen not only in a white shirt but ever.
