What makes BWFC so special that we deserve to be above Leeds, Leicester, Doncaster, Preston, Wolves, Bradford, Notts County etc. etc. for example.

We have got to realise that we are not a top 8 Prem club, we are a club that belongs elswhere but have finished in this position for the last 4 years for one reason or another. Just like every other club that has it's good years and bad we will find our level.

The last few years have been like a dream and we will look back in years to come. Bolton fans have been honoured with the success and giant killing acts over the years.

All this moaning is getting me down. It was bad enough reading it all when Big Sam was here but now it is getting depressing. Try being an Oldham fan or Cambridge or ...............etc.......etc.............. These supporters must think we are a bunch of tossers. I am embarrassed to be a Bolton Fan

I totally agree with everything you say, and my point is , why is he allowing Gartside ruin everything he has done for us by appointing someone of this calibre.

If Megson is appointed then i'm sure we will be playing the likes of Doncaster,Wolves,Bradford and Notts County and will i still follow us, off course i will , but i would prefer what we have now.

Yeah, but it's more fun and less effort to slag other BW fans off than have a constructive discussion of how the club is run.

Davies and Gartside, have done great things for out football club. Mostly people seem to agree with that, yet people are talking about heads rolling for an appoinment that hasn't even yet been made. Even if Megson gets the job, why should we expect either of Davies and/or Gartside to step aside?? Megson doesn't appear to be a masterstroke of an appointment, but surely that should be judged in time rather than before the fella even gets the job??

 

Like Casino said its only a matter of time before people start to slag off Davies too.

I appreciate the job Davies has done and i for onewould not slag him off, i remember the days under warburton/hargreaves having to flog lifeline and scratch cards to mates at school in order for us to survive, ( thanks to mogger we did).

We are in the best league in the world and in the uefa cup, we should attracting better quality prospects than Megson.

I have a couple of questions ....

Eddie Davies is the owner correct?

He appoints or backs the chairman and board of directors?

Do the Board of Directors appoint the Manager?

Does the Manager suggest which players to buy?

 

If the Manager asks to buy a no. of players.

The Board of Directors look at said list and ask owner can we have money.

Owner says, sorry club has to run itself, i've put enough of my own wealth in (dependant on sources between ?8 and ?14 million).

Board go back to manager say you are having a laugh, here is the budget, buy to this.

 

 

Main question is, who is ultimately at fault?

Please, Megson isn't the man to lead us to our next level, FSA took us to europe so we must be looking to build on this and not go backwards, in what other industry do they appoint a manager who has been out of work for so long and with no real credentials.

How can you predict what Lee would or wouldn't have done. He hardly got the chance. If he had been allowed to stick to his plan of more attack minded football, if he hadn't been undermined by 'toys out of the pram' Nolan, who knows.

 

Of course the start has been poor, but I for one saw signs of encouragement against Chelsea.

How can you say that FSA being appointed was a stroke of luck? There were plenty of more estanblished, cheaper mangers etc around, but PG was confident in his man hence the 10 year contract etc.

 

Who provided the money to bring the big names, even when we had huge debts? PG is a convenient fall guy. He is just as much a reason for the success of BWFC over the past 8 years as FSA. FACT!!!

Please, Megson isn't the man to lead us to our next level, FSA took us to europe so we must be looking to build on this and not go backwards, in what other industry do they appoint a manager who has been out of work for so long and with no real credentials.

 

 

STOP STOP STOP with all this 'next level' crap. We are a small club who have over achieved big time. A mid table position in the Premiership is where we are at, with the odd good season into the UEFA. When the top 7 or 8 teams are all spending ?30m-?50m a year, forget it.

 

Despite the awful start, we are about 5 points from mid table, hardly a million miles away.

 

We need a manager who can keep us up and bring stability for the next 3 years.

 

If you want the man to take us into the top 4, you better be looking for a guy who can manage well, and also bring with him millions of pounds to spend.

 

BWFC are in debt, have less than 20,000 home fans at most games. We are not a top 4 side, never where, and never will be.

 

GET REAL!!!!

Bolton's support isn't 3rd Division though.If you think crowds over 20,000 belong in the 3rd Divison you simply have no idea of gates in the lower divisions.

This isn't a tinpot club we are talking about,its a club that's spent almost 70 seasons in the top flight....

Surely Davies as a chairman who we know has plenty money must be thinking right, we are bottom or the league, we have dwindling attendances and we have no manager. If we get relegated it will cost us so much money its frightening, so the next manager we appoint may be just a tad bit important! So i tell you what Garty lets make it a good manager and heres a nice budget to get one as it will save us millions in the future??
