Sacked In The Morning....

Featured Replies

I said before the game last night that that was the worst England team in 20 years. Beaten by a better team quite simply, this campaign was lost by failing to beat Macedonia at home. When McLaren goes some poor sod will have to come in and try and make these donkeys look world beaters.

I've been thinknig about this today. If I ruled the world and run the FA, I would put clauses in any manager's contract so for instance, if we didn't qualify (which we all know has just happened) then he gets sacked, no pay off, no nothing!

They won't have learnt from the SGE saga though will they.

You dont need any clause like that. International manager should get a 2 year contract and only a 2 year contract. If you qualify and do allright at the tournamant you get another 2 years. You would have thought that the fa would have learnt from paying ericsson shed loads of money, but it would appear not.

Very bad idea - It'd better to have a longer contract with the clause in...

Picture this - Mourinho accepts the England job tomorrow and England qualify for WC2010 at record pace.

Mourinho's contract is then up and he's in the strongest position possible to negotiate a new, better deal or alternatively walk away to a top club mgt position without them having to pay any compensation to the FA.

If the FA tell him to stick it, the country gets on their back for losing a top Manager - remember the Bolton board being berated for losing Tal Be Haim?

Either way, they lose.

They were pathetic. The worst thing about it all is the English media jumping up & down about McLaren......if we won the WC, the media would still whinge.

I just hope whoever comes in doesn't play the same lot who fail every b?stard time - Gerrard shouldn't start for England as he's always sh?te for them - same goes for a few others. They're untouchable & that's the problem - spineless managers who pick players on reputation and not form.

Jesus - we had ragging Wes Brown on the bench......says it all really. And brain dead idiots like Lescott & Richards just haven't got the intelligence when playing against cunning overseas players who see them for what they are. Micah is criminally over-rated, that other city full back showed him up last night.

I just can't get myself to give a f?ck about England anymore.....why should I, it's just average players from the big clubs walking into the side despite being consistently sh?t......Bridge would have never get anywhere near that team if he wasn't at Chelsea, I'd have chosen Nicky Shorey over him anyday.

As I've said before - until the FA grow some b?llocks - England can f?ck right off.

BWFC

Venebles sacked too.

This'll the second pay off he's had from the FA. Nice little earner there.

No it wasn't and that's what makes it even worse.

Forgot Phil Gartside will be on the panel as well, I wonder if he will recommend

Big Sam for the new job !!

God i hope not! There are three candidates that spring to mind immediately:

Marcelo Lippi

Jose Mourinho

Gus Hiddink

The first two are currently unemployed and Hiddink's contract expires after Euro 2008.

Hiddink has already agreed a new deal lasting until 2010 a week or so ago.

I wasn't aware of that. Someone else mentioned Fabio Capello who is also out of work at the moment, so he should also be on the shortlist.

Capello's English is basic at best and Lippi has previously said that before he would manage in England he would have to learn the lanuage.

If he's any sense, he'll be giving the FA this:

One thing that has been overlooked after last night's debacle is that it now seems likely that England will not be one of the top seeds in the draw for the World Cup qualifiers, which means that we will have to play two teams seeded above us in a group from which only two qualify!

Once again they have sacked the monkey and not the organ grinder. I regard Barwick as the main culprit and he should be asked to clear his desk and leave the FA immediately.

Ballsed up selection process which he was responsible for. Took far too long, involved too many people (how on earth did Dein get involved when he wasn't on the panel), culminating in the worst candidate being appointed. If he was a good candidate, he should nave been appointed immediately and the whole charade would have been avoided.

I can't stand this bloody on good speaking terms crap either. The manager is appointed to do a job. Any dim twit can stay on good speaking terms, I'd sooner have an absolute shit that was on bad speaking terms with everybody and told the press to stuff it but did his stuff.

The last shred of credibility McClaren had, disappeared when he appeared on the touchline with an umbrella in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. He looked like your dad watching you play at Under-10's.

Everyone's lasting memory of him will be that he was "The Wally with the Brolly!"
