Tim Howard has hailed Everton's away following - insisting the fanatical backing provided by the travelling Blues gives David Moyes' men a Premier League advantage.

A strong contingent of Evertonians cheered the Blues to Carling Cup victory at West Ham on Wednesday night.

The US international is hoping for similar support when the sides meet at Upton Park for the second time in three days on Saturday.

He told evertonTV: "The fans were great. The support is great at Goodison and when you come on the road and see how fanatical they are it is great.

"I won't name clubs (erm.....cough, cough....) but you look around the league and see some clubs' support is paltry. They have got like 50 fans whereas our fans are ready to explode!

"Anywhere you go in the Premier League will be a hostile environment, but when you have thousands of Everton fans you know they have your back and they spur you on."

And that backing could help influence Saturday's outcome, with Howard wary of a backlash from the Hammers after Wednesday's cup win.

He added: "We have talked about it. It is going to be a little bit odd, especially having beaten them.

"Everyone knows what each team is going to bring. There's not a lot of time for change. It is going to be interesting.

"We didn't want to come out and say anything that would stir them up and inspire them, but I think the way the game worked out we were over the moon!

"It will seem like a continuation, but it is up to us as a group to re-focus and not think about beating them in the cup, but to focus on the three points."

Sorry, but that makes you a complete div in my book. And all your football opinions null and void.

How can you brag about your support when you don't even come from the town? Bizarre

Glossop Whites ??? Walkden Whites anyone ??

If you were to stand at your turnstile and check birth cirtificates and turn away NONE Boltoners.....your crowd would be down by a few thousand every game.

Cant have it both ways.

Within a 30 mile radius is classed as a local supporter, apparently!

One question, who is the better supporter ??

Bloke 1 - A bloke who lives in his town, supports his club, but goes maybe 5 games a season, and makes a big deal bout going to one European away game, and shouts at the Arab TV when your AT HOME!!!

Bloke 2 - Not from the area were his team are from, goes every game, travels from were he lives midweek, weekend, and goes to europe, and has a season ticket ??

Who is the better supporter ??

Its not as much were your from, its about How you support them!

Now now come on. Answer the question... :good:

Anelka without a doubt, didn't realise how class the bloke was/is tbh

Take him out your team, you would be rock bottom.

Liverpool / Bolton is hardly a fair comparison to Bolton / Walkden is it? Considering Walkden borders Bolton and before the overspill moved in the traditional team to support was Bolton

And when it all boils down to it, the only reason to support a team from another town is because they are 'bigger' - and bragging about Everton's support proves that point

Each to their own and all that...but in many ways you are defending the indefensible !

So its ok for Bolton ??

Tosh, Bigger clubs WILL get outside support, that is a given, infact ALL teams have it.

Its weather they go or not!

Their is a huge reason why I support my club.

I know of a Bolton fans who was born in Liverpool.......so how does your theory work on this fella ???
