What has happened in the one and a half seasons since we bought him (apart from him getting older) that is supposed to have increased his value by ?6.4million, which is way out of line with even football inflation over that period?

I'd be happy with ?13m for him. Anything less and we might aswell keep him.

when we signed him it wasn't known if he could still cut the mustard in the prem. he is now one of the top scorerers in the league!

i would be happy with the ten million. i cannot believe how many on here think we are a big enough club to be able to turn down an offer of 10 million. we get less than 20k to home games. i know selling anelka wont help this but nor will keeping him as i doubt many people go just because anelka is playing

You must be joking. We got Anelka very cheap because he was a risk. He had been playing out in Turkey and nobody knew whether he was still as good as his earlier years and whether he could cut it in the prem, or whether he would stay at a club for more than 1 or 2 years.

 

He has proved the 1st 2 points as he is one of the top scorers in the premiership in a team that is not doing well. As for the 3rd point he has never outwardly said he wants to move on or that he is not happy, he certainly seems to have settled down, and if he moves it will definitely be for footballing reasons (going to a bigger club).

 

That for me proves that he is no longer is a risk and is once again a world class striker who is still only 27/28. I would just about take ?12m and wouldn't be overly happy with it, but would really want about ?15m.

To be fair, I have a masseev fan who knew him at Citee & when I told her about his attitude, demeanour & work rate she answered with "he must've changed then" & laughed.
