Featured Replies

Just been having a look at the ? to ? exchange rate. I think they know we're on our way.

Does anyone know where I can get some of these "Euros"?

The tourist rate now is around 1.26 Euros to the Pound, last January it was 1.50 Euros to the pound

Do they not take British pounds?

If you're going and taking a couple of quid spending money, no, you're right, it doesn't matter.

Never mind these Oiros anyway: how many pesetas to the ??

Is it still about 250?

It bothers me, i'm buying a place in France - In f?ckin EUROS

It's nice to be able to go to a UEFA away match without having to carry root vegetables in my hand luggage, so I'll take whatever exchange rate they give me.

Pesetas was Bulgaria. . . or was that potatoes

Now I'm all confused. (Again! It must be my age!)

I've decided to take guineas.

Don't be silly. You can't be shipping live animals willy nilly with no specific licence.

Are you taking them all over in a sack or in a cage?

What's the exchange rate?

If you bought a beer for 1.5 guineas, won't the change be a bit messy?

At present I believe there are 10 gerbils to a Guinea and 10 Guineas to a Chinchilla, and 10 Chinchillas to an Aardvark - some places won't take Aardvarks though, as there are a lot of forged ones going around.

So, in anser to your question Micky, getting change shouldn't be an issue

and don't forget to pick up a few of these so the kids can play on the slots:

You've done it now NB. Alex wants one of these for his birthday so it can go to school with him in his blazer pocket.

Was it just me that found that llittle critter oddly disturbing? :-k

Do as we did in Marseilles - I'm not paying 6 Euros for a beer pal. We'll muller the local Spar. Class act us lot. :drinks:

One of my dying drunken footballing memories was the outburst in the Spar shop by the manager (?) when it looked like a plague of alcoholic locusts had taken to his shelves - "you Bolton, you are animals!!" (works better in a French accent).

Why not try a Nationwide Flex Account Card, you get the business rate at cashpoints etc with No charges. Also a tad easier than carrying around a load of guineas.

Even better---Nationwide Credit Card, so you don't have to settle up for a while (don't use for cash, though)
