maybe vigilante's are fighting back.

i play footy in a 7 aside league on that road every monday night,it's a pretty quiet area generally.obviously has more than its fair share of idiots nearby.

 

have noticed that there are no groups of teenagers hanging around since the guy got killed.

 

it's depressing me though,the amount of stories of teenagers attacking people.

 

there was a ben story the other day about a 50 yr old guy stabbing 2 teenagers,(on the estate opposite bolton uni)my first thought was that it's some guy that has had enough.

 

not heard what it was about since though.

I used to run a pub in Warrington, many years back. The locals called it Awful Orford!

I work on Kingsland Grange in Woolston (not as posh as it sounds I must add), and it's about five minutes form where Gary Newlove got killed. On the same road is The Stocks pub, made famous in the News of the World for being one of the venues for Kerry Katonas babys christening.

A mate of mine lives opposite the Stocks, and during the summer he had his wooden patio furniture nicked while he was in the pub. It may have been after time, but I couldn't comment.

I've never seen any trouble, but I've heard about it. We've had breakins at work, and diesel pinched from our tank, and the odd van going for a ride, but that could happen anywhere. I've got to say I don't think I've seen too many brown faces around where I work, but there is apparently a large Polish or eastern European contingent.

The only pub with a decent pint is the Millhouse in Orford I think. Hollts pub. We went in one time after work shirt and tied, and the locals thought it was a raid.

orford is just like breightmet,quite a big area, mainly ok but with a couple of dodgy places (Longford estate and Grasmere estate)

And Bolton is a bigger sh?thole than Warrington

Couple of lads where I used to work were from Warrington.

 

Never mind the weekend, every night was made to sound like a haven for scrotes.

 

One of the lads got arrested for trying to stop a copper and a bouncer beating the sh?te out of someone and there were numerous stories about the classy women from the area.

We do a lot of our shopping in Warrington, its not a bad place (though Doris works in Orford and aye, its rough), its a bit more convenient that Bolton, even though that is our 'big brother'.

Worked in Birchwood for a couple of years, not the worst, not the best either mind. (to clarify, Birchwood isn;t the worst, the place I worked was the WORST ever!)

 

It's a shit-hole, for sure.

You have a choice if you're living along the M62. Manchester one end, Liverpool at the other, and Warrington in the middle. Easy choice for me.
