We Need To Be Safe With Two Games To Go...

Featured Replies

Bolton face a fixture headache from hell as they bid to stay in the Premier League.

Gary Megson's men now fear the only date when they can fit in the re-arranged derby visit to Manchester United will be in the final week of the season.

That means Wanderers last two matches could now be United away and Chelsea away - a real test if, for example, they need a point to survive.

Bolton's UEFA Cup run has caused the clash.

They had pencilled in a spare midweek in March for the Old Trafford visit, but now they have home and away games with Sporting Lisbon.

And Sir Alex Ferguson's diary is full after that until the final midweek.

Or hope the league title is done and dusted and there's a manyoo V chelski FA cup final and Chumps league for them to prepare for

Would I be happy to win the UEFA cup at the expense of going down....you bet :good:

put the fishing rod away

Relegated at OT. Relegation party at Chelsea. Then off to the UEFA Cup Final.

What a great month May could turn out to be!!!!

put the fishing rod away

Seriously......last big trophy we won was in 1958....a year before my dad was born

gotta wanna stay in prem though, dont you, plus its at man city which kinda takes the shine off it

I'd definitely take winning the UEFA Cup over staying in the Prem. I thought the object of football was to win things?

I would also rather win the Uefa Cup than avoid relegation.

We have avoided relegation 6 seasons in a row, adding a 5th major honour to the clubs achievements would mean more to me.

Even if the Uefa Cup holders start the league season at home to Plymouth.

Boxing day please, oop north for xmas. Whatever division. 8)

Back on the topic. Can just see Dave Whelan explode if you send Wigan down by taking six points from ManYoo and Chelsea youth teams.

Spot on George.

Financially we may be fcuked in getting relegated but adding the UEFA Cup to our 4 long-a-go won FA Cups is my preference.

They beat a Man Utd team saving themselves for the cup final on the last day of the season to avoid relegation.

hardly, they still got d?cked, despite the 1-0 win, quite lucky in fact, which about summed up their season

some real gloryhunters on here.

Bolton's UEFA Cup run has caused the clash.

So the rearranged ManU away game has got nothing to do with their involvement in the FA Cup?

So in your lifetime of supporting Bolton, what would you prefer to look back on as the greatest achievement you witnessed:

a run of consecutive seasons in The Premiership

or winning the UEFA Cup

I have to agree but winning the UEFA would be immense.

Lets win the UEFA and stay in the Prem. :yahoo: :yahoo:

I would also take that :D

Man Utd: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Brown, Heinze, Evra (Giggs 57), Solskjaer, Carrick (Scholes 58), Fletcher, Richardson, Smith (Ronaldo 58), Rooney.

Subs Not Used: Kuszczak, Vidic.

West Ham: Green, Neill, Collins, Ferdinand, McCartney (Spector 28), Benayoun, Reo-Coker, Noble, Boa Morte, Zamora (Harewood 63), Tevez (Mullins 82).

Subs Not Used: Walker, Davenport.

Booked: Collins, Tevez.

Goals: Tevez 45.

If Man Utd needed to beat West Ham for league points there is no chance of Ronaldo,Scholes,Vidic and Giggs being on the subs bench. They were taking it easy playing the likes of Smith,Solskjaer and Richardson. And it looks like they just gave Rio Ferdinand a day off.

no, but the team they put out didn't roll over for west ham and hardly took it easy:

shots on target:

mu - 20

wh - 4

shots off target:

mu - 8

wh - 2

corners:

mu: 14

wh: 3

those stats would suggest they got off lightly, you could say "they got d?cked"
