Mini Cash Isa's

Featured Replies

Cheshire Building Society has sent me a letter announcing that they are closing their Bolton branch, and that the nearest available ones are in the delightfully picturesque towns of Wigan and Leigh. As I don't ever want to contemplate visiting these places, I need to switch my Mini Cash ISA to another bank or building society.

Any recommendations from those ITK would be greatly appreciated. Ta!

I'll put it in my acount and look after it for you :)

Do you need to live in or visit a town with a branch to qualify as an investor? It's the branch closing, not your investment!

I do mine online, thus never having to visit a bank, and queue up with smelly people.

Edit: I have mine with Alliance & Leicester

If it's an ISA, why would you need to go into the branch? Money transfer, D/D or whatever? I don't recall the last time I needed to go into a bank/building society.

wtf's an isa?:

Great news, that'll be something to add to the 33p I've had in mine since 2001

I take it you have a variable Mini Cash Isa. If you want to switch make sure when you do, that the provider you want to move to accepts transfers in.

Do you need to switch?

What is the current interest rate you are getting?

Personally at the moment I would recommend going for a fixed rate Isa with the Nationwide either for 1 or 2 years at 6.15% or if you have currently ?9000 or more in your current Isa then Lloyds TSB is 6.50% fixed for 1 year and both of these accept transfers in.
