April 21, 200818 yr Got a Whirlpool washing machine but is giving me the run around at the moment. It won't complete it's cycle and stops cos it says door is open. Give the door a shove but still won't start up. Clothes are trapped. Any washing machine experts out there for advice please. Fbat proper fed up.

April 22, 200818 yr Author turn it off at the mains, then switch it back on cw ani Did that my friend and door opened so rescued the very wet clothes However tried to wash another lot of clothes but stops at wash bit with door open light on again. Me kicking ten bells out of the door I suppose ain't helping. Best case scenario is there is some divine intervention and it starts working again. Worse case scenario is I get a new ?200 one from ASDA. Something I can't afford,if only I hadn't gone to Lisbon
April 22, 200818 yr If we'd beaten Lisbon, would you have gone to the next away fixture; no matter who? If you answer yes to this then you CAN afford a new washer!

April 22, 200818 yr I had this problem years ago. Don't know if it's the same, but make sure it's unplugged. Pull it out (oooer) and lift the lid. If you put your hand down the front there should be a release for the door. Make sure you've got towels or a bucket on the floor to catch the water.
April 22, 200818 yr Make sure you've got towels or a bucket on the floor to catch the water. indeed, had the same problem a few years ago. Mrs CWP then opened the door, and only had a washing bowl under it to cath the water, unfortunately fcuking gallons of the stuff came out and flooded the kitchen Anyway, we then invested in an AEG one, and she hasn't had any problems at all.....................as far as I know
April 22, 200818 yr Fruitbat: here's where you're going wrong. Firstly, put your hand down your pants. If you find a cock and two balls, then you shouldn't even be contemplating the washing machine: it's wimmin's work.
