The only potential City have ever had is the potential to make a pigs ear out of a silk purse !

Or look at it this way City average crowd is 42152 (which comes in 6th) with means the ground was 88% full on average, 800896 pass throu the gates, now we have a average of 20901 (which comes in at 19th) which mean the ground was 73% full (worst in the league), 397122 pass throu the gates, so thats over twice as many people have watched City then use.

What do you think City have the potential to do that we don't.Bearing in mind that we finished 8th,6th,8th,7th four seasons in a row?

To me the best City can do is become like Everton and finish 5th ,which Allardyce had the potential to achieve with us.

They like Newcastle have the chance to make the top 4 if the idiots in charge will leave managers in place long enough to build a team, we on the other hand simple dont have the money to do that, it would be nice if we had but we dont, yes we did do well in those 4 seasons and people cant take that away from us, but you really cant think we could have contiued at that pace do you, the team that Sam left was gettting old in the tooth as as been shown this year and will need a large injection of cash to even get us to mid table , city and they like can go out and spend 40/50 million we cant

The Thai has spent tens of millions this season and has got nowhere near the Champions League places.

To make money out of City he will surely have to finish in the top 4 and i don't think they have the potential to do that.

(without him spending silly money like Chelsea, who aren't bothered about losing money)

I disagree with the point that they have the potential to finish top 4.

Arsenal,Liverpool and Man Utd are historically more successful clubs that finish above City. And as long as Chelsea are owned by Abramovic they are going to be at the same level as the those clubs.

On Allardyce,i think we could have had another season in the top half if he had stayed.West Ham are 10th with 48 points, with Faye,Anelka and two decent signings that would have been achievable.

Martin Jol?

Ambition?

If spending ?40mil to end up in the bottom half, with a first team of....

--------------------Robinson----------------------

-Chimbonda--King--------Dawson-----Bale----

-Lennon----Jenas-----Zokora----Malbranque--

--------Keane---------------Berbatov------------

Is what classes as an ambitious appointment these days, thank christ our board is dull.

Presumably you think that we will achieve under Megson then? Prepare yourself for a rude awakening. If we avoid a relegation scrap I will dip me lid to the bloke. Just can't see it.

Anyhow, get the fook off the Jol fixation. That was just one name which immediately sprung to mind.

We won't have a Chairman as good as Gartside again in your lifetime. He is a Bolton Wanderers fan for starters which means a lot to me. Would you rather have a Rusky or a Thai or maybe a Yank?

Gartside has brought more success to our club than we could only dream of a few years ago. It is hard to believe that BWFC are in the top division in the country (possibly the world) achieved with an average banky balance compared to our competition, and very average supporters.

We have played in the Uefa Cup in 2 of the 9/10 years he has been Chairman. We were in the 2nd division when he took the top job, and he appointed one of the best managers Bolton has ever had. He tried his best to keep the aforementioned greedy manager, but he left us in the lurch.

Gartside appointed his assistant Sammy Lee for continuity which I agreed with at the time, and so did a lot of other fans. When Lee ballsed up playing attacking 'Champagne football' ha ha, it was Gartside that acted quickly like all the best leaders do.

He was the Chairman to oversee the signing of one of the best centre forwards in European football, the likes of players of Anelka's ability playing in a white shirt is just fantasy. I still have to pinch myself.

We were then rock bottom below Derby County with 5 points when Lee was sacked, even the Real Mourinho would have found it difficult to keep us in this division from there especially as Anelka had finally decided to go where he belongs in a Champions League squad.

He brought in one of the few managers that was available and capable of doing the job of keeping us in the top flight. This is also the Bolton manager that beat Manchester United and played a weakened team at Bayern Munich and come away with a draw, which eventually got us through to the next stages. All in the short time he has been here.

Big Sam played disgracefully weakened sides in the Uefa cup matches, but I didn't hear the same criticism of him.

We are living the dream!

enjoy it while it lasts

take a look at Leicester, Wolves, Derby, Stoke, Leeds, Preston, Burnley, Watford, Charlton, Reading, Forest, Oldham, Southampton etc. etc.

would you rather be in their positions? would you rather have their chairmen? What gives us the right to be in a better position than these clubs. It is only good leadership and good management that makes us better right now. Look back in another 10 years and you could easily be talking the same way as the fans of the above teams right now, who are surely laughing their tossers off at what a lot of Bolton fans are saying.

That adds upto about 10 million per year more income than bolton, in the great scheme of things and with our much tighter financial control than City and with less fan expectation should not make city any more likely than us of being able to POTENTIALLY win something, so for me city having bigger POTENTIAL is a load of bollox.

utter utter b?llshit

I think someone else has said it before, but to judge Gartside on this last year means you forget the 7 very good years he had previously.
