To be fair to Megson, Sam used to do the same - could be a board decision. We would only normally sign players once pre-season had started, even then 'they were for the future!'

I am doing....and I'm thanking my lucky stars that I'm employed by a club in the worlds richest & strongest league

Even if we pay a fortune some players won't come to us. The likes of Gera are being courted by the Benfica now! We will be linked to a lot of players and have to sign some desperados come end July because a bit like last year at this time, we have a thin squad. Unfortunately we will not have the quality up front which is where most of the money has to go on perhaps a couple of players.

 

Which makes it a very difficult balancing act for Megson. He has made it more difficult for himself getting rid of Andranik and Stelios who are useful squad players and will probably have to rummage around the bottom of the market come end August to fill the squad out. It probably won't stretch to more which was Lee's problem.

Have people forgotten that we spent around ?12m in January (a time when usually we spend fcuk all), without apparently touching the Anelka money. People are criticising and the fcuking window isn't even open yet.

 

At the end of the window if we haven't signed good enough players or enough of them then fair enough, but fcuk me save it until then.

I'm happy we're staying clear to be honest, Hossam Ghaly looks like he could be going to Blackburn for fucks sake.

 

The only players who are going to be moving before late July/August are the shit and the massively overpriced. Anyone else will wait and see what the situation is after the Euros/after his agent has finished touting him around.
