fruitbat69
Now boys and girls I really couldn't care less who scores for BWFC as long as we do,however as I have Davies in my FFT at work, why was the goal given to Gretar when it clearly touched Davies on the way in ? Mike Hunt
surely has to be Davies goal - no way it was going in otherwise
tylswhite
I thought that if a player has a shot/header on target and its deflected that its still their goal unless the player it deflects off makes a move/play towards the ball to steer it goalwards? or something along them lines. Davies knew nothing about it and the header was on target so i guess thats why its still steinsson's
Site Supporter desperado Posted November 24, 2008 Site Supporter Share Posted November 24, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...rem/7727209.stm If you listen to Davies on the BBC's media player there is no doubting who is claiming the goal! He talks about sharing his bonus if he reaches 10 prem goals A good summary actually from Davies, both of the game and of the performances of Muamba and Elmander

Manny
Just checked the Actim stats on the Premier League website and it's been given to Steinsson.

Does the Andy Gray dodgey goal panel still meet to consider these matters?

adambwfc
Does the Andy Gray dodgey goal panel still meet to consider these matters? That's only for possible own goals. A goal disputed between two players of the same team is settled internally.
jolly-olly
That's only for possible own goals. A goal disputed between two players of the same team is settled internally. I seem to remember a goal Youri scored that deflected off Nolan being given to Youri after a panel awarded the goal to him.
exiledwhite2
Traditionally, if the ball hits a team mate, it's their goal. End of story. However if it was very slight, they mightn't 'claim' it. Bottom line is - that was Davies' goal

The match report's first line states Kevin Davies as a goal scorer but the Match Stats right by the side of the report gives the goal to Steinsson!! http://www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Match...4~44600,00.html
