I won a 2 dollar sat (24 playes) to get a seat in the quads too, also came 5th in a 5 dollar tournie earlier on for 40 odd dollars, happy days!

Serious question here folks; if you're playing online poker, can you not just use some clever software to make your decisions - or is it subtler than that?

You can't get something to MAKE your decisions, but there is stuff freely available to help inform them. For instance there is a programme that will display stats on your opponents like what percentage of hands they play, so someone who has been playing 70% of the last 500 hands is a lot more likely to be holding utter dogsh?t than someone who only plays 10%, for instance. I've never used one of these things though, seems a bit kind of unfair, but with pro players playing 10 or 12 tables at once I can see why they'd require it. If you are in a tournament you can subscribe to sites which will tell you your opponents' results too and their return on investment over a given sample size, obviously someone with a 25% return on investment is pretty good and someone with a -30%.

 

In fact my New Years Resolution is to make more money at poker.
