Having said that Happy New Year to all. Remember, those of you that live in the North to count your blessings and have a good 2009.

Only two hours to 2009 here and it's an early neet for me to get ready for the event of the year in Perth tomorrow - the Perth Cup at Ascot. Early start for breakfast at a Yiddo mates who lives beside the track (no parking problems which every other fecker has to endure ) and meet up with the same 4 couples we have been doing this with for the last 5 years. Yiddo couple; a pair of Red mancs, a couple of Owls and a token Aussie couple (who are connected to the racing industry in Perth).

 

Top day in air conditioned comfort with all food and drink plus track entry; racebook etc - all on our own private table overlooking the last 150m to the finishing post for $200 per person. Only downer is that it is going to be 41C and the hoi palloi will get totally trashed meaning that the short walk back to the Yids house will be strewn with knicker flashing, vomit covered bodies - many of which started the day as beautiful and stunningly dressed young ladies

 

I hope you all have a cracking celebration and a fantastic 2009 and, apart from Pablo, I sincerely hope your chosen football club has a sensational second half of the season

Honestly mate - it ain't pleasant when it's too hot. As bad as being too cold.

 

Mid March to mid May is paradise here. Around 26C every day - clear blue sky; just perfect. Looking forward to that.
