January 3, 200917 yr Author I just don't remember an away green one until 90s Yep, got it int loft from around 82 same time they changed the badge for a season, George will have the programme with the badge on the front, sure they had a one with George Mulhall holding a ball with Tony Dunne etc stood around looking at it. In fact I have an autogragh sheet upstairs from the open day they had with said badge..... Edited January 3, 200917 yr by Crew86

January 3, 200917 yr IMO best strip ever, got one in't loft with BEN on and the green away version, both still fit too Badge embroided, even Umbro logo too. I also liked the blue and red striped one from the early 90s; good shirt, very evocative

Sorry, no it didn't, the reason the top was green (shorts white and socks green) was the new badge was green and white. Lasted one season.
January 3, 200917 yr Became the first JJB Sports...................... I used to "advise" them around 82/82, told em to get Fila and tacchini in, never fooking listened. I was asking somebody not long back (who I thought would know) when they became aware of a shift in 'look' with Bolton lads and they couldn't tell me.
January 3, 200917 yr Author I was asking somebody not long back (who I thought would know) when they became aware of a shift in 'look' with Bolton lads and they couldn't tell me. Don't get me wrong there where lads I knew (older) wearing fila etc, I used to buy my Lendl Adidas gear from JJB and got to know the staff.
January 3, 200917 yr Author We definitely had a green away shirt. As well as Derby in 81/82 i think we wore it at both the wins at Sheff Wed and Blackburn the same season. George I gave you my programmes with th new Badge on. I will dig the top out and post tomorrow, sure I have posted pics of C86 Jnr with the white (with BEN) and green top on.
January 3, 200917 yr Author Owd home strips Home Kits Tell you whats frightening is nearly 20 years of Reebok sponsoring us, seems like yesterday.... Edited January 3, 200917 yr by Crew86
January 3, 200917 yr Owd home strips Home Kits I've often wondered why we never brought back the "white with reds spots" look; bet some french rugby team has nicked it already.
January 3, 200917 yr Don't get me wrong there where lads I knew (older) wearing fila etc, I used to buy my Lendl Adidas gear from JJB and got to know the staff. can you remember what year-ish? just asking out of interest ..........
January 3, 200917 yr Author I think the programmes you mean are the 80/81 ones when some of the players are looking at Tony Dunne holding a ball.I don't think we had the green shirt thenYou also gave me the newspaper from Derby away in 81/82 when we wore green and won!! I didn't go to Derby but went to both Sheff Wed and Blackburn.Almost certain we wore green at Wednesday and think we did at Blackburn. There must have been 4,000 plus Bolton at Ewood that Easter so someone else will remember. No I was trying to link the fact we changed badge and moved from a red away top to a green one... on the vodka export again, messy.
January 3, 200917 yr IMO best strip ever, got one in't loft with BEN on and the green away version, both still fit too Badge embroided, even Umbro logo too. That was the first Bolton shirt my parents bought me when I was at primary school, it did'nt half used to rub me nips though. Loved it to bits & I've still got it nicely folded upstairs. Yes Bolton did have a green shirt the same back then, I wore it as a kid for 1 game playing for (as it was then) "The Lads Club"
January 3, 200917 yr wonder how many had the franky worthy headband when playing ont field Sounds like you might have had one
January 3, 200917 yr IMO best strip ever, got one in't loft with BEN on and the green away version, both still fit too Badge embroided, even Umbro logo too. That was the best kit we had. PS As for the green badge, it's not the alcohol clouding your mind, it really did happen. I think Satan has a picture of it.
January 4, 200917 yr IMO best strip ever, got one in't loft with BEN on and the green away version, both still fit too Badge embroided, even Umbro logo too. No all bar one, bottom row 2nd right
January 4, 200917 yr Interesting to see there are just 14 players in that picture, I would bet that was as many players as we used for the full season, what would the modern day player make of a squad as thin as that today.
January 4, 200917 yr Was Brian Smith not about that era? Probably the most under rated striker to play for Bolton.
IMO best strip ever, got one in't loft with BEN on and the green away version, both still fit too
