No Trains On Saturday

Work's being carried out on the trains this weekend.

the club are putting on extra buses and there'll be the normal rail replacement ones from the station

Club provide extra buses

Yet again the West Coast mainline is shut at weekends. This must be the tenth year running that planned work is done at weekends through the winter. I would have to get a bus from Carlisle to Oxenholme.... then a train to Preston and another f?ckin bus from Preston to the Reebok. With the same on the way back.

On top of that, they cancel the cheap tickets for bus services so for the pleasure of sitting on a coach for an extra hour and a half you pay top dollar.

I'm sick of the whole thing so Iamoutfortomorrow.

I'll watch soccer saturday in my local instead.;

the trains are always 5hite. anybody who gets them for work will know what i mean.

I hate to say this but Merseyrail are spot on, always on time and half the cost of the other train operators

However, anybody who travels through or via Oxford Rd must have a nightmare, it's the worst station I've ever had the displeasure of visiting, vastly overcrowded, a waiting room without any doors and the most inept platform staff you could ever imagine

Any station that has a constant recorded message apologising for 'any inconvenience that may be caused' is in trouble, there is no other business on the planet that would survive if it had to make multiple apologies on a daily basis to it's customers

And fares went up 9% this year and 11% last year, would love somebody to justify that to me how that's been well spent

I go through manchester city centre to the Airport every day and its a complete nightmare more often than not. im convinced they have made it worse on purpose since the congestion charge was shot down in the hope of extra funding.

they're to busy thinking 'now what the fuck do we do' to think up ways to snarl up train traffic

Same I belive for the Newcastle game

You would think this info would be on the front page on the official site.

maybe its cos nobody pays?

Well I've still got no car and checking on t'internet suggests getting back here after would be shite, and even if I kip over at me owd mam's in Daisy Hill there's no fooking trains on sunday it seems.

So that's me listening to R5 then. Still, at least I get a kip in tomorrow morning.

i'd give you a lift back to picc on sunday if nobody else offers

i'd give you a lift back to nottingham on sunday if nobody else offers

Good man :good:

Seriously though, there'd be ways and means I know, and there must be replacement buses etc....but at least I hadn't bought the train tickets in advance and found this out, and getting 'em now is a bob or two. So maybe I'll spend saturday buying a fookin car!

if i let you navigate, nottingham might be quicker than manc

some truth in that

If you're still stuck for Newcastle let me know. I'll be driving back on Sunday after the game and passing through east midlands will be no problem.
