He got refused permission to have the right-of-way removed from the lane. So anyone can wander up it, thus he had the wall and gates aroud his mansion built for privacy.

I used to go to school with two of the lads whose parents farmed from here. The farm was my play area for many summer holidays. When you consider that, as a grade 2 listed building planning permission states that any alterations should be 'in keeping', I must say I don't recognise ANY ofthe former farm buildings. The footprint of the google picture is very close to what is there now. What is misleading is that the lane has been shifted north to give some extra land in front.

There used to be a sign on Totty Road in the early days of the building work advertising the sale of the farm house and other buildings but I believe that the Red Ginger has decided to keep it all to himself
