It's the Stuart Pearce who failed miserably as a Premier League manager.

The Stuart Pearce who most on here reckoned was an idiot when he was in charge at City.

The U-21 squad also has Joe Lewis (Peterborough), Scott Loach (Watford); Martin Cranie (Portsmouth), Kieran Gibbs who's played about 10 minutes for Arsenal and that World beater Lee Cattermole.

If England had quality throughout the squad, Muamba wouldn't get a look in.

Stuart Pearce has been around football more than long enough to be able to spot a good player. The fact that at City he either failed to motivate, failed with his tactics, or failed to attract enough of these players is totally irrelevant to this discussion.

Pearce as an experienced and knowledgeable football man (and if he's good enough for Capello, he's good enough for me), has chosen Muamba as one of the top 23 English U21 players currently playing. This is a good thing for both us and Fabrice, and how anyone can't recognise that is totally beyond me.

Incidentally, Fabrice is suffering from both the weight of expectation, and the fact that he's been asked to practically carry a midfield for the majority of only his second full season in the top flight. He's only just turned 21. He'll learn and getting in some good players around him will help.

Nicky Hunt played for the U-21's didn't a fraction of the Bolton fans want him to die at some point?

Good point, there seems to be a pattern emerging. Nicky Hunt has never been that bad either imo hes had his bad times but hes pretty steady as a player imo.

Very unlucky with an injury when set for a recall around Christmas time, especially when at the time Steinnson was struggling for form.
