School Sports Day

Having to miss the daughter doing hers today, which is a sh?tter. Apparently she's nailed on favourite for the Egg & Spoon!

I was always sh?te at running. Even the sack race was beyond me! But I reckon I could have put in a serious effort for the parents race today, if I'd been there. Saying that, majority of participants would have been the grandparents, and I've have felt like "Competitive Dad" off The Fast Show!

Any of you lot show Olympic Gold potential when you were nippers?

If my team are ever more than 4 or 5 goals up I will generally go down to 6 lads and then 5 if needs be, its all about enjoyment and development. We also share out pitch time regardless of ability as the lesser lads deleop at different rates and can turn out to be very good players within 12 months.

When winning comfortable, instead of removing players, we tend to rotate positions let defenders go up front and get wingers to play center half etc, tends to reduce the overall score and gives the lads a good appreciation of how difficult other players parts can be, and as for the shared pitch time this is a must, can't stand when teams won't play certain kids until they are either winning by 5 goals or it's just gone to the last two minutes of the match.
