I don't think there's anything sinister about the selection at left back.

All managers have their favourites and I just think that Robinson is one of Megson's favourites. Perhaps he's very supportive of his manager in dressing room "discussions": who knows?

Plus JLS might have needed a rest after the X factor tour.

to be fair, although weve conceded 2 goals in 2 game, we have looked far more solid at the back.

the downside is we dont attack very well from the leftback position now.

i appreciate theres a balance, but id prefer attacking fullbacks.

I hope that Megson restores last seasons full backs at Tranmere and then, as they say, its up to them to keep the shirt for Saturday.

I hope that Megson picks what he feels is his strongest side for the Tranmere game ie the side he will want to field against Liverpool at the weekend. The first XI need time to gel together and maybe, just maybe, beating Tranmere might instil a little bit of confidence.

in terms of fullback, hopefully if he picks what he thinks are the weakest, then the strongest will play.

No problem with this at that end of the pitch - in defence though I don't think we are playing the strongest players in the full back positions. OK Ricketts got a start because Steinnson was ill - has he done enough to keep his place; maybe but are we sure? As for JSL, I really don't know why Robinson is ahead of him - oh yes I do - Robinson is Megson's boot boy.

Like I've said on other threads, Traf, this really is my personal 1st checkpoint for Megson this season.

The team needs to gell, the strikers need to score, the club needs a result. The players have only played 2 games & there's a blank weekend after Liverpool. It has to be the strongest team and bench at Tranmere.

And if we still lose ? ......... don't know what to say.
