This Here Legends Game Yesterday

don't think it's been mentioned anywhere else but how did it go ? what were the teams and did Camps, for old times sake, throw himself to the floor for freekicks ?

It was more entertaining to watch than the 'main' match!

It was definitely more entertaining and well done to the North stand for striking up franky franky franky worthington, I had a tear in my eye as my all time favourite player acknowledge my bowing down before him for a split second I was 15 again and in awe of the great man.

Players included Claus Jensen,Robbie Elliot,Ged Taggart,David Lee,Andy Walker,Bob Taylor,Greg Strong,Paul Jones,Peter Nicholson,Frank Worthington.Richard Sneekes,Ivan Campo,Gudni Bergsson and Nicky Spooner.

I'd say Ivan Campo got the best reception,he didn't throw himself to the floor.Amir Khan went on as sub in the 2nd half and looked small even compared to David Lee

Same here but I think Ivan Campo got the best reception, I suppose its an age thing. Frankie was the last one off at the end of the 'lap of honour' and spent some time with fans in the lower west.

Agree with Alibob, it was entertaining and an ideal warm up for the main match.

ps I thought JT should have had a penalty!

who was the bald bloke playing centre back with the bald paul jones?

I thought it was Simon Coleman but Not certain.

So, glass half empty and glass half full agree on something then! :D

I was very disappointed to hear no chants for Gudni myself. :nea:

And Amir Khan... well. What a waste of a player on the pitch.

Correct, was my hero as well, having watched the mighty whites since 27/12/1975,and to be honest no one will come come close,he was a true legend and i will never forgot the goal v ipswich when i was 10 years old sat in the manchester road stand and turning to my dad who had a tear in his eye

Bolton News has a report here:

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/wanderers/w..._out_for_Jussi/

Teams were:

Whites: Bogdan, Strong, Bergsson, Jones, Coleman, Lee, Sneekes, Kelly, Green, Taylor, Worthington. Subs: Spooner, Thompson

Yellows: Edwards, Nicholson, Taggart, Warhurst, Elliott, Johansen, Campo, Jensen, Thomas, Walker, Sellers. Subs: Reid, Khan, Barber.

Good to see that the nepotism at BWFC is still going strong - how did Fred Barber's son justify an appearance as a sub for the Yellows?

thought that the lad did well actually, made a great save at the end of the game

That wasn't my point.

maybe jussi wanted to give something back to the bloke who has helped him get to where he is

That wasn't my point.

what was your point ? The lad is obviously a decent keeper, his dad has worked with Jussi for years, presumably Jussi had a say in who played rather than the club, it was a testimonial and a bit of fun so why should nt he play?

or are you just a miserable fucker or is it just a case of knocking the club for no reason, I apologise if i have missed your point.......

I don't take issue with nepotism anyway even if it was. Let's be honest and say we'd do it if we could!

Try harder

Fair enough on Jussi giving Barber's lad a game to say thank you to his coach - its a good explanation and I'll take that.

:good:

Monday mornings in Leeds make me a grumpy fucker.

How many noticed that it started 12 v 12 and in the second half which only lasted ten minutes it was 13 v 12. By the way was it announced that Fred Barber's son was only 13, if so the lad did very well.

It took til the second half for me to realise how many players were on the pitch! I know sometimes when you're playing someone it can feel like you're playing against 12!

Did anyone went the legends in white to win more than the legends in yellow?

Thought we could have at least had a penalty shootout to add a bit more comedy value.

Franky scoring the winner............................

The thing that came across the most watching the Legends game was how ridiculous 40+ blokes look in a replica shirt. I will never buy another again!
