Wrong Board

I must be on the wrong board, it's been ambushed

How's that then, have all the megson lovers been sectioned.

Welcome Otis. I can see your intellectual & well thought out posts will add much to this board. You're just what it was missing.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the welcome, me no speak forked tongue.

Its always the same posters, and a few new ones, who cant wait to tell the world about our latest defeat! It's almost as if they get a perverse pleasure out of it.

I'm as pissed off as anyone about the defeat today but 2 matches into the season isn't the time to be making changes. There will be a time of course for the board to make a difficult decision but its not now!

10 games in is the key time for me, if we're still playing shite by then, we should change things around and give the new mon chance to work out who's surplus to requirements and what we need before the window in January.

I've honestly no idea who we could realistically bring in though to change it.

For me ....

1st checkpoint Tranmere away - we need to pick the strongest team and bench; they need matches to gell together, the strikers need to score, & we need a result.

2nd checkpoint on 1st September - who we've brought in & let go, and what squad we're going with.

3rd checkpoint 10 matches in (or 7 defeats, whichever comes first) - where are we, how's it looking.

I'm not happy already, but I'll see how it goes.

How long then, next week after Liverpool or maybe after a possible tranmere debacle.

Believe me squire I take no pleasure seeing my team suffer, but I will not tolerate the blind bleeding obvious shite in front of me and pretend that all will be well.

The longer megson is given the worse it will become, just take a good look at him in that post match interview. :nea:

Reet, now this seems like a normal and reasonable way of thinking to me. Far too early to panic but a fair enough though to how things aren't looking too good so far. Take note those who jump on every negative going.

Last year my Hull supporting mate was talking of Europe 10 games in yet they only just avoided relegation. I know its easier to end a good run than break a bad one but it shows how things can change over a season.

With you there. This is his fourth transfer window and in that time he has failed to address the fundamental shortcomings of the squad that have existed since Allardyce's time - a total lack of pace, craft, creativity and attacking options. But there's still time left for him to do something about it - I live in hope Tuncay and Nugent / Beckford will sign on in the next two weeks.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't want Megson because of his previous record and I don't want him now. But we've started this season with him, so those are my checkpoints.

Frankly I expect him to flunk the first one this midweek, but let's see what he does.

although I do believe it's points that count and not performances I thought yesterdays 'attempt' as very reasonable.

In what way was it awful?

You know it really makes me laugh how people from other boards come on here

and have a pop at people just because a few wont slag our manager off,

we all know things are not brilliant at the mo but ffs.Megson Lovers :nea:

Just loyal fans

If you believe it's points that count, and the result being that we got none, in what way was it not awful?

ok, so the result was awful?

I agree it was.

If Elmander would of passed the ball to Matty Taylor instead of shooting wide we might not be having these negatives about Megson. 23 shots we had

yesterday, we had better everything on he pitch bar scoring, i dont understand where Gary Megson is at fault :pardon: All strikers go through bad spells

and unfortunatly for us the team were extremely unlucky, i was gutted until i saw the highlights and stats. Well come good, trust me =D>

I don't disagree that at this moment in time, things look bleak but we are still only 2 games into the season and sacking a manager 1 week before the transfer window when negotiations for players, that he has identified, would be the wrong time. To get a new manager in could take time and we could then end up with a depleted squad and new manager at the same time.

Anyway, Blackburn are still below us so it maybe that Sam gets the sack first then we could have him back!

The BN have him down as the elected mayor!

Taylor's corner taking was awful.

On a number of times he couldn't get it past the first man.

Whilst we had all those attempts and were the better team for long periods, it seemed that we wouldn't score.

And i was pissed off i couldn't get a pint at half time as well.

I had a look on here from my iPhone last night and it looked like a car crash. How people can knock us for cleaning it up is utterly beyond me.

Bloody hell, there are bad spells and bad spells, he will be wearing Tampax on his shirt as sponsers, they usually sort a bad period out!
