Ba On Strike

Good.

If they dont want to earn up to almost twice the going rate, then either move over and let someone who does or don't come pissing and moaning when their employer goes bust.

There are millions of workers up and down the country who have accepted pay cuts or freezes, and are grateful to still be in a job, without pissing and moaning to the commies. There are folk who'd give their thumbs to be working at the moment, good people who are struggling to find work.

But these cunts......

Fuck em.

Zero sympathy.

Doesn't work like that thought does it?

As I said earlier, we are essentially selfish animals. If someone want to take summat from you and you can stop em you will. Fuck the rest of em.

Pretty sure you operate your business on a similar basis.

Human nature.

If & when they do ballot again I'm not sure it'll be a result for Unite i.e. a strike, as

A - The cabin crew were too thick to realise or weren't previously informed it was going to 12 days & have since said, oh fuck is it that long.

B - Sky News are informing the public of how over paid these people are compared to others doing the same job (or others underpaid if you think a trolley dolly deserves that much) &

C - because of this & other reports the staff should now be aware that the much of the British public have no sympathy for them & so we would hope will now think on.

A - maybe

B and C - why would they give a fuck?

Maybe they won't give a fuck what the public think but when it's widely reported & then on the news is the unemployment figures, even they should look at the facts & maybe realise they're not that hard done by.

Whoever that Unite bloke who's been on the news reminded me of the silly cunts I had to deal with who've helped to ruin the textile industry, in fact it might well have been him & he's moved on to another industry.

They need a decent PR man to speak and not those idiotic militant nobheads.

I thought he came across quite well.

If you're serious I can now conclude we'll never agree on this subject. Do these people not know that shouting doesn't actually make your argument any more valid, brothers & sisters?

I heard him on the radio - wasn't shouting there.

The point he was making though was a valid one - big business will fuck you over given half a chance.

It does work like that when folk think for themselves.

We had to lay the lads off for 3 weeks in March because we had nowt. Before that we'd paid them to hang around for a month. To win work we had to ask them to take a 10% pay cut because we could not compete with Johnny Wanker working out of a van with wonky insurance. Me and my partner took a 50% pay cut. The foremen now earn more than us. Its life. If we cant compete we dont get work. If we don't work we fold.

Simple as that. Nobody with anything between their ears needs a Union to understand it.

To a man they took it, not the best, but they've had 9 full months work since when some of their mates have been signing on.

Thats the real world.

And it can also be argued that Unions will fuck over Businesses given half a chance. It is probably all just a game to the big bosses & the Union bods. Meanwhile people are losing jobs.

Smiffs - I know all about the real world lad.

Course they will and most of the time the shit that is happening is somewhere inbetween what both want.

I'm sure you do and know you're not a nugget, I'm on about these people threatening to go on strike in the worst reseccion for nigh on a century whilst their employers lose hundreds of millions, need to open their eyes, look around, and think to themselves 'well fuck me it could be a lot worse'.

When you were shovelling shit out of a bath, would you have any sympathy for a trolley dolly moaning about only earning ?35k a year for selling fags and giving out butties?

Maybe a trip down to the job centre will wake them up, maybe a mock interview on how to sign on, understanding how degrading it is for a skilled person to have to sit next to some cunt who's never worked in his life.

Probably not, but I can understand people's desire to protect what they have.

Well said Mr Smiffs

Sack the fecking lot of them and give someone else a chance ( with out unions).

Probably not, but I can understand people's desire to protect what they have.

But thats the whole thing!! They'll have fuck all to protect if BA continue to lose ?600m a year.

The local bus drivers who earn less than national average wage and were striking for what would amount to less than 0.5% of their employers annual profits was justified in my opinion - I said so at the time.

This isn't.

A simplistic view perhaps: but should pay awards not be linked to profitability?

I wonder if the members of Unite know where their subs are going:

Derek Simpson & his Communist principles

A mildly interesting read.

Intresting read NB union leaders look after them selfs ( At least dick turpin had the Courtesy to wear a mask).

A simplistic view perhaps: but should pay awards not be linked to profitability?

YES

A simplistic view perhaps: but should pay awards not be linked to profitability?

Yes. If the business does well the staff should do well.

And BA staff did very well when the sun was shining.

No surprise that Unites leader lives in the lap of luxury. Chardonnay socialist hypocritical coonts who live this way thanks to contributions from brainwashed types like mickbrown. The socialist dogma is dogshit. Sorry Mick but your class struggle doesn't exist any more.

I would love BA to clear the lot of em out and recruit folk on private contracts. Can't the stupid fookers see the financial state the company is in? If it goes under, they will be facing a 100% pay cut the numb c'unts.

Edited by bolty58

Ah - you taking the polar opposite view of me.

All is well with the world and I know I'm fucking right then. :p

Out of interest.....BA have paid well aboce market rates for their staff (according to the media) is this because they have set out to attract the best staff ?

I have no idea about the ins and outs of this but what is the pay deal that has been offered to the senior management at BA ?

What % of BAs costs are wages to the trolley dollies ?

Dunno about all of em but last year BA lost ?401 million and Willie Walsh got a 6% pay rise taking him to over ?700k a year.

Nice work fella.

A simplistic view perhaps: but should pay awards not be linked to profitability?

Yes

And affordability

It's a hard world out there, which some people haven't woken up to

A job, pay rise, 32 inch widescreen HD are not a right.
