Now I decided to enter into the 21st century and get sky+.

 

This was about a week ago and they reckon the soonest they can come out is 11th January. But want to start charging from the date i spoke to them.

 

Said to the person that they can f?ck right off if they think they can start charging me almost a month before they've installed the thing.

 

And where I live the block of apartments already has a communal satelliate dish but they still want a ?30 installation fee. Just leave the box on the doorstep with the right wires and I'll sort it out myself!

Sky+ is more 2005 than 2010. The picture quality is utter shit.

 

You can get a FreeSat HD box, wires from Maplin and hook it up yourself.

 

Or wait until the new year and get a Freeview HD box, all you need is an aerial.

Just had a phone call to say that my cousin Bob has passed away this morning.

 

I was already dreading christmas day prior to this latest bad news as my wife recently lost her mother in November and her farther died in May.

This will be the first christmas day we have spent on our own. We don't have any kids and I have no family of my own apart from my dad who lives in bolton somewhere and with whom I haven't spoken to for some years. so it will be pretty quiet in our house. My wifes pretty upset about christmas day as you can imagine, but she's coping well. Roll on next year! I'll be glad to see the back of this one.
