snowball Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 This is just my opinion and by no means FACT but... if the Bolton Wanderers were to get relegated this season, anyone who says/thinks/ponders/imagines this is down to Owen Coyle is an utter buffoon Totally agree with you mate. Unfortunately there are a few on here who defended Megson well after it became apparant it wasn't working. Kind of a perverse reaction to the over the top hatred of some of our idiots. That's why some are questioning Owen already, saying he has done nothing but not mentioning the utter shambles, on and off the pitch that he inherited. For me the atmosphere around the place is a lot better now. I thank God that its Owen in the media talking about BWFC and not that boring, negative, soul destroying drivel we had before. OC has had a number of knockbacks. Not least courtesy of Clattenburg, otherwise we would be out of the bottom 3 already. Add to that playing Arsenal twice, Liverpool & Citeh in first first few games, our best goalscorer getting injured, then our best defender and top scorer getting a freak injury. I don't think we will need any excuses because we won't go down. But even if we do I am still glad we got shut!
Guest Biff Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I dont want to winge and moan about relegation but we just haven't got anybody to score a goal and if you don't score you don't win. I don't see how Bolton can stay up. Remember Colin Todd's team that won promotion by scoring 100 goals and almost 100 points. How many of the current team would get into Todd's team. Not many if any and Todd's team turned out not to be good enough to stay up.

Earlier in the season Taylor and Cohen were chipping in, Davies scored a good goal last week, Chungy is more than capable of finding the net as is Klasnic who may be risked tomorrow. Expecting Elmander is too much to ask, but you never know.... The todd team comparison isn't valid for me. That team was doing it at a completely different level so to until you know how the present team would compare a division below, you just don't have a clue I just don't buy in to this negative expectation of relegation. This isn't rose tinted spectacles or cloud cuckoo land just a realistic expectation that we will have lots of downs between now and end of season, but hopefully enough to get the few wins/draws that we need

His second season was as bad has his first and ended with relegation................................................................ Fill in the blanks. Shit i feel crap writing that; but stats don't lie, and we are in trouble. No point pretending until its a shit or bust game. We need that relegation battle/siege mentality as of now. Go to the dingles and battle for every thing. Be it the ball, pints or pies. COYMW

Alf Hartigan Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Been saying it for a while now, 35 points will keep a team up, Not convinced we'll get it though. My moneys still on Pompey, Wolves and Hull going down

So many things wrong with that post IMO. "More than good enough" is suprisingly over optimistic on your part, maybe just good enough I am hoping. The rest of your post is to type, negative drivel. The injection of optimism has surely got to come from having a manager who is charismatic, positive, vibrant and with a strong belief that we are good enough. Off course this would be so much better had we got a few more points and weren't being as woeful in front of goal with the added loss of our best player. "The blame lies with one bloke" - what crap, lets hope there are no depressants like you within the dressing room. I still think we can just get 4 wins out of next 12 games with a possible few draws, then again we might not, we are in a relegation battle and we could go down, I thought this with Megson and its not going to suddenly change with Coyle, anyone who thought otherwise was completely misguided. Regardless, Coyle deserves our backing, not the blame you are trying to attribute to him.
Casino Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 can't find your post from after the wigan game, but from memory, your positivity factor has dropped quite a few notches
desperado Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 can't find your post from after the wigan game, but from memory, your positivity factor has dropped quite a few notches Only natural after a 3- 0 defeat, even for someone with a generally positive outlook. With each defeat comes more pressure, making the Wolves game massive. Things need to change, I still believe Coyle and the players can instigate the change needed.
Casino Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 yesterday wasn't the first no-show of recent years, not by any means they even happened under allardyce but its not good when the managers only been here a month it must be hard when you don't see where the next goals coming from, but they've got to show some bollocks
Casino Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 oh aye and i don't think yesterday was any worse than wigan

Surely with more forwards we might score a goal.... Here goes one of them there team selction things Jussi Steinsson Knight Ricketts Poison-Dwarf Muamba Wilshere Gardner Davies Klasnic Elmander
