i was confident we'd win.

i didnt expect us to be steamrolled.

Am the same homer. didnt think we would roll over like we did. i still aint got over it. it will be a while i think. maybe sunday against the gunners might erase the memory. but then again!! :nea:

2011 was a day that will forever be etched in every Wanderers supporters mind. Not just the result but the nonsense of seeing your own lamp bells out of each other.

For me though, the Barry Knight cash in a bag night was the worst. You just had to be there or it's not even worth explaining how it felt. A bit like Girls Aloud all lined up for a sesh and your raffle ticket allows you only one - and your ticket gets you the ginge.

The 77 LCSF, the 76 & 77 promotion seasons that petered out, I don't know how many relegations (Aldershot being the worst)Black Sunday, the Carling Cup semis v Trashmere, the Final itself in Cardiff, Play-Off finals when we were gash(91 &99), the disappointments are almost endless. But Portman Road in 2000 topped the lot for me because an OUTSTANDING team display earned jack. And all because of a bent match official. Nowt will convince me otherwise!

Ok Barry Knight robbed us but at least the team, on paper a vastly inferior one to Sundays, gave their all and weren't far off getting a result even with the senings off and 3 penalties.

In the 2001 Semi final was our for the winning and I'll never forgive Dean Holdsworth for THAT miss but we weren't expected to win and we played ok, though not spectacularly. I could accept it.

Sunday was a disgrace in my opinion and bar none was the worst performance I have ever seen from a Wanderers team at any level. We were gutless from start to finish and let Stoke walk all over us. There wasn't one player who can honestly say they gave their all and could have any pride in their performance. The fans were there to witness a win and a good number couldn't take the combination of too much drink and disappointment and started scrapping amongst themselves. It was an embarrassment !!!

I will always be a Wanderer but there were a good few at the game who aren't fit to watch the team again. Arseholes throwing bottles at coaches and trying to storm the beer booth when we went 3-0 down (near block 131) have no place following Bolton

All that makes 2011 hurt more than ANY other game I've ever been to

With him mentioning Barry Knight its annoyed me again; just googled him and Wikipedia have more about our game then anything worth noting for the cheating get

I was hugely gutted in 2000, as then we were a division 1 team and we were the underdogs and we gave a Premier League team a real run for their money and took it right to the death. Left Wembley a very proud supporter that day.

Sunday though was different. We've come a long way since 2000 and we were the favourites on Sunday, a strong side playing better football before coming into the game, and we simply had our arses handed to us. We didn't show up, have any fight, create any real chances and just looked like we didn't want to be there. We had the piss taken out of us and suffered (I think) the heaviest defeat ever seeen in an FA Cup semi final. Left Wembley disgusted and embarrassed.

So both days hurt a lot, but both for completely different reasons.

2011.

Tranmere semi's and Boro final sucked big time also, Holdsworth didn't mean to miss, Sunday was just a nightmare team performance, in 2000 our penalty takers bottled it, but the miss obviously would have prevented this if it went in instead, we could take pride in our team though.

When the dust settles it has to be 2000 - missing out on the chance of a symmetry that will never ever come to any team again. This time next year we could be celebrating an FA Cup semi victory. Indeed, maybe it'll be like buses - you wait ages for one and then two come along almost at the same time. (as an aside - I wonder what the fans response would in terms of ticket sales...would the bad taste still linger?).

But the Barry Knight night trumps them all - the main emotion on sunday was disappointment and shock tinged with anger; coming out of Portman Rd the only emotion was raw anger.

Then again, for bewilderment and uncertainty as to what the future holds nothing approaches Aldershot...

Black Sundays 1&2, Villa at Wembley, Ipswich Knightgate, Aldershot - all sickeners ,but I think the one that hurt me most was the relegation at Chelsea.

Against a team whose supporters largely wanted us to win ( to send Everton down ), whose players wanted to avoid injury before their cup final, we put in a performance just as gutless as last Sunday when it turned out a draw would have been enough to keep us up.

T'other day for me, by a country mile.

A cracking day out mind.
