I have a mental block with text speak, I just can't register it. Same when scousers talk at me.

Its not text speak, just a glimpse of what the country is like at the moment.

 

My brother put something on ebay and his advert was the same, littered with spelling mistakes and no grammer at all. I just shook my head.

That's my arguement for the stopping of all this nonsense. Also, it is very difficult to decypher. So. their laziness & general spacishness makes it hard work for those of us who can read properly.

followed by

Needless to say, he didn't "pk it up from todaii"

Why would he spell it as "todaii". All he's done there is make a word bigger.

Well, we've got an intern at the moment who says a lot and OMG and she's got a first in English Lit from Oxford, so its not always a sign of stupidity, its just a 'yoof thang' I believe.

 

Makes my teeth itch though.

I can sort of understand abbreviating long words, but half the words in text speak, use the same if not more letters. fckn wierdoze

It makes our lives harder, I have to use far more brain cells trying to understand txt spk. I wouldnt want to have to decipher Arabic everytime i got a text, and its pretty much the same.
