Used to go in the General Havelock just off Lever st before home games before that shut about 96.Proper back street pub that was with some funny characters.

I was in on Saturday afternoon for the first time in about 10 years when I was in the bike club. Place hasn't changed a bit with the exception of a smoking shelter and wood burner round the back!

Plus we don't need any more plastic dmbs, enough in on Saturday who couldn't handle their ale! Oh, and it's bloody dear too these days!

May 31, 201115 yr Author NZ Chief was on Gt Moor Street, wasn't it? Facing The Army recruitment office? NZ Chief was a proper rough and ready pub in its day, the irish landlord Martin had scratch marks scarred on his face.

All the lads (and occasional lass) in the pool room and the biddies in the main section, with the Theatre Church mob in the far room. Friday nights used to be bloody heaving. Good jukebox, too. Not the same now though.
