I didn't think that he saw eye to eye with "The Pointer"

I didn't think that he saw eye to eye with "The Pointer"

it would be remiss of him to not consider the post

Some people wrongly give Megson stick as he did do some good while he was here whilst this guy did nothing but fuck up, I could rant about Sammy Lee for hours on end, so out of his depth it is not even funny.

He's going to take the positives away and he's not shocked because nothing surprises him in football.

Really??

I thought Sammy Lee's only mistake was to try and get players to play football, who had been playing hoof it to Davies for the last ten years...

I hope that is sarcasm.

Sammy Lee's problems were:

1. Having to build a new backroom team, as Big Sam nabbed the pick of it for Newcastle

2. Having a squad that needed rebuilding and expanding for a European campaign

3. Unrest in the dressing room, from both circumstances and probably his weak management

4. Trying to change the playing style overnight, rather than tweaking the system

5. Being saddled with Cid, bought by Allardyce before his departure

His crap signings did him no favours either, but many of those seemed out of desperation.

I suspect he'd do alright as a manager in the lower leagues. Bolton was too big a job for him though.

I hope that is sarcasm.

Not at all...

Go on...

Apart from the obvious which Blixa has said...which ties in with my brief synopsis...

What did he do wrong?

Those in bold without a doubt, people are moaning now about us signing nobody but at this point when Lee was in charge he had signed players left right and centre and I worried about how much quality he was bringing into the club, clearly none.

Bit like saying "Apart from architecture, art, literature, language, sanitation, aqueducts, irrigation, calenders, money, bricks and mortar, public heated baths, carrots and turnips, pavements, apples, pears, grapes, benefit system, roads, wine, cats, townships, glass, street cleaning, shops,

Law and order, tenements, firemen, policemen, parks, cabbage, peas, libraries, advertising, . . ." what did the Romans do for us?

over rated as a player

over rated as a coach

Liverpool took a nosedive when he became coach

whereas I think we had our best top flight spell

great coach for us

He was a cunt but people make out he was the worst manager in the history of the club and was on par with that Hearts nonce, he put the club back on a steady ground after the damage that hobbit did.

yep

he was still the most massive cunt of a manager we've ever had

on field, did the job he was brought in to do, but what a miserable 2.5 years that was

the most miserable 2.5 years of my watching Bolton career

ANYWAY

it's about Lee this thread

I don't think Sammy Lee was ever in anyway a good manager or even cut out to be one

but he was between a rock and a hard place after Fat Sam upped and left taking all the respect the players had with him

ANY manager would've no doubt found it difficult had they come in at the point Lee did (am talking about the end of the 06/07 season, not the pre season or start of the 07/08 season)

taking on Lee was Gartside's biggest mistake made in his tenure, he remedied it though, which is why his next appointment wasn't as bad on the pitch as people remember

in short - when we were rock bottom after 10 games, there were numerous factors, that included Sammy Lee's spell in charge, that had us in the mess we were in - not just him

then a further 3, for the rant.

well done

Why do the Megsonites have to keep bringing that wanker back up as leverage for everything that goes / went wrong with other folk

Would I have Sammy Lee or Megson in charge at the Reebok?? No, neither

So who gives a fuck

But if we HAD to have one or the other; Megson any day of the week.

Did Lee have some kind of written or verbal agreement that he would eventually get the job if BSA left?

Sammy Lee was a good bloke and couldn't manage

Gary Megson could manage but was a massive cunt of a bloke

Coyle can manage and is a good bloke...........got there in the end that's all the matters

Not a good coach ? Out of depth as a manager yeah maybe not a good coach What a load of bollocks.
