  • Yes, MT, I follow the Oirish too.   But I'm at Bangor all day tomorrow, then on the lash in Wrexham! But, if I get chance, I'll find some pointers for you and shove them on here on Sunday.   But,

How can an 11/1 shot in a field of that size be 2/1 to be placed?! Now I know how Betfair makes its money!

  • If you took those stats from Mal's piece, that'll be over the last two years, mate.

Rebecca Curtis is a trainer to watch at Worcester, has three out today I think, one a short priced fav

Well Done with Belgian Bill. He got away well.

I backed the 9/2 favourite, which came 4th. he was badly buffeted on leaving the stalls, then got boxed in before staying on at the end.

I actually got 16/1 on him, before the price got smasehd inot and I was a nose away from getting a 4/1 payout for the place on a horse sent off at 9/2 to win!

Thurs 11/10

I'm out for much of the day, but I'm already on:

5.20 Kempton: Tropics. 2nd

I took 11/4 BOG in the early hours, but Eltifaat (3rd fav) has just pulled out, so there might well be a rule 4 applied.

6.20 Kempton: Exactement at 7/2 BOG, but that price won't last long. won :D

A winner and a 2nd = +2.5pts

Thanks traf he stayed on well at the finish as well.thought yours was the one to take out of the race nearly went sideways when he came out,and all sorts of trouble in running.might be worth keeping an eye on him as didn't finish in the frame.

Been looking at bachoftheque it's pissed it down all night here in ull so usually that means it will have been worse in York.he won on heavy at Ayr last time .earlier in the year he finished in front of garswood who ran a cracker last weak in a group 3.

  • Author

It's heavy in York today.

If a horse has won at Ayr on heavy, there's every chance they'll go well today.

My SotD today in one such type.

I like Backoftheque, but I don't like 3/1 in that contest.

BetVictor and bet365 priced mine up very badly wrong though.

He really was a 5/1 or so chance yesterday (SP 9/2), but they'd priced him at 16/1.

So, yes keep an eye out for him reappearing, but I don't think you'll get a decent price.

Anyway, for today: Fri 12/10

8.15 Wolverhampton: La Pampita (7/2 BOG)

9.15 Wolverhampton: Tiradito (7/4 BOG)

I am also having a small e/w on burning blaze for no other reason than it can't run as badly as it did last time!frank spencer is not my fav jockey by any means but we will see.also went in bet Fred this morning as it is a guaranteed race they have the ground down as good to soft! my arse.

Apart from the obvious claims of Countrywide Flame in the Cesarewitch it looks a very difficult day to me. Apart from the aforementioned my only bet is an EW punt on 33/1 shot Magical Legend in the 4.45 at Chepstow.

I've also backed CF in the Cesarewitch and Matt's picked it for SotD (my weekend off!).

I backed a couple early this morning for tonight's Wolves meeting.

6.45: Gabrial the Master 3/1 BOG

8.45: Gaelic Wizard 4/1 BOG

Ahaknowyerself 4.35 Ffos Las

imperial monarch in the 22.44 at woodbine could be a good bet at around 5-2

Woodbine's a bit of a drag, isn't it?

Monday 15/10:

2.40 Muss: Common Touch (6/1 BOG)

4.50 Muss: I'll Be Good (9/4 BOG)

I'm gonna back Sheila's buddy in the 5.10 at Windsor 6 winners have come out of his last race at good wood including chapter 7 on Saturday at York.Has won on soft before although is relatively exposed.

2.20 Huntington, two I like. Madamlily is an outside chance for a place despite never having raced there before but is 2 wins and 7 places from 11 starts on the ground. Musnad is my choice to win under Danny Cook, who is 7 of 22.

  • Author

Danny Cook is indeed 7/22 at Huntingdon.

But Notarfbad also looks like a decent bet in that one at 11/2.

Trained by Jeremy Scott whose record at Huntingdon reads:

23.02.2012 Huntingdon Golden Gael 7/2 1st/5

23.02.2012 Huntingdon Dreambrook Lady (IRE) 13/8 1st/13

27.01.2012 Huntingdon Sir Kezbaah (IRE) 16/1 9th/11

27.01.2012 Huntingdon Clash Duff (IRE) 5/4 1st/5

13.01.2012 Huntingdon Dreambrook Lady (IRE) 5/2 1st/10

19.11.2011 Huntingdon Golden Gael 30/100 1st/9

30.10.2011 Huntingdon Bowntobebad (IRE) 15/8 1st/7

01.11.2009 Huntingdon Al Qanoon (IRE) 8/1 4th/14

He has 4 runners there today:

Notarfbad (IRE) 2.20 Huntingdon 11/2 unplaced

Porters War (IRE) 2.50 Huntingdon 4/1 3rd

Dream Cloud (IRE) 3.20 Huntingdon 20/1 pulled up

Empiracle (IRE) 4.50 Huntingdon 7/2 7/1 winner :D

Terrible runs from my Huntingdon picks.

SOTD today when I went to place the bet was 8/1 to win and 4/6 to place! Ridiculous. I could understand if they were paying eight places.

That's why I always say to use conventional bookies rather than Betfair for SotD.

Take the early BOG price.

Happy enough with that and an 8/1 E/W 2nd for SotD.

Off to see if I can find a few at Wolves now.

Think I'll write today off as a bad job and see if anything is on offer from Bin Suroor at Lingfield (52% strike rate stands up new track laid or not) and Longsdon at Wetherby (50%) tomorrow.

Got me a week long trial on Horse Race Base. Outstanding so far.

  • Author

Horseracebase is absolutely fantastic, I use it every day.

5.50 Wolverhampton - Abhaath (6/1)
