MalcolmW Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 now come on coyle get them players fired up to fuck and earn your coin There is a danger in being too fired up! Ipswich springs to mind. I know the referee was absolutely shocking, but the players felt their future was on the line (it was!), and didn't respond to his 'style'. They paid the penalty - several times over. But is Alibob on holibob? I daren't mention the appointment for Sunday - I'll just say he could get there by bike. Quote
shropshire bwfc Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Malcolm, when you referred to the Ipswich game I prefer to draw comparisons with the one where we were 4 up at HT when Bobic scored 3. Not the one Bad Baz won for them via his stuffed brown cash bag. Admittedly we had better personnel then, but that was a do-or-die PL fixture that saw us destroy our opponent from the off. Bollocks to cautiousness (if there is such a word) just go and win the fucker. Let QPR mull over the goal that never was for 15 years and see how the Cockney cunts like it Quote
marple whites Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 For me, both games referred to against Ipswich we were superb and that is exactly the attitude that the players need to show. You cannot account for the quality of the refereeing in the game at Portman Road that night. Quote
Gumbo Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Its about individual player management. Ive been reliably informed by 2 players in the dressing room away at Ipswich that BSA pushed already aggressive players over the edge that night. However in the current squad there are individuals who are not aggressive enough who need a rocket up their arse. And if the manager isn't able to do it then perhaps they should warm up in front of the away end on sunday! Quote

MickyD Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 If Bolton can't get themselves fired up for this, the most important game since PNE at Cardiff, then get fucking rid and play the kids. Quote

I'm sure I've read that BSA subsequently realised that he needed to calm that team down in the particular circumstances. I've managed teams (not in football!) competing nationally at the top level, and agree absolutely that individual player management is crucial. Quote

Yeah but the tiddly winks players fitness levels is much higher; bet you were hard on them and kept quoting all those statistics. Instant sacking if they missed getting a wink in the pot after two attempts? Quote

no balls Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 (edited) I had an awful dream last night. My mum told me not to repeat them or they may come true. I hope it was the cheese & onion Pom bears and not a premonition Edited May 13, 2012 by no balls Quote

We ended up going down....... You can add the rest, don't want to tempt fate. Quote
