August 20, 201214 yr John McGovern? If so, his opinion is worth shite. I think he means John McGinley. He's changed since he went all Hollywood actor too, so I care not for his opinion.
August 20, 201214 yr Does Coyle get any plus points for coming out and saying we were rubbish at the weekend? It's a small change from the tripe he was regurgitating last season "the BPL is unforgiving"..."there were a lot of positives to be taken from the game", but it is a change. I fancy us to win at a canter against Derby. http://www.thebolton..._up_at_Burnley/ Half a plus point for admitting to having a go at the players for an unacceptable performance. Minus one whole point for building a lazy marshmallow squad and then saying "In this league there is a real appetite and work-rate and we have to ensure we match that and play to our maximum."
August 20, 201214 yr Give OC the next 2 games at home (Derby & Forest) and if we dont get max points fuck him off. Only prob i see is who would we replace him with. Not many good managers around cos if there was why are they out of work?
August 20, 201214 yr So what we need is to try harder ? Brill Well, Homer, trying would be a minimum start. And, if this League is about " real appetite and work-rate" (Coyle's words) I'd suggest not building a squad of soft-centred players. I wouldn't say that's "brill" .............. just logical and basic.
August 20, 201214 yr What would I do? Either Acknowledge that I haven't got it and resign, without compo Or stick with it, knowing that I'm shit and gather £1m (or whatever) on being sacked. I'd hang around Edited August 20, 201214 yr by boltondiver
August 20, 201214 yr What I do? Either Acknowledge that I haven't got it and resign, without compo Or stick with it, knowing that I'm shit and gather £1m (or whatever) on being sacked. I'd hang around PRECISELY! Anyone saying "If I was Coyle, I'd walk away with my tail between my legs" is either lying or massively idiotic. Who, in their right mind and in this economy, would walk away from their source of income? You'd lose your income, and (especially in the world of football management) any chance of a decent reputation to get yourself another job. Nobody wants a quitter for a manager. Better to hang around and either succeed or get sacked (with compo).
