Staines is in Surrey ;)

 

 

It was in Middlesex in old money, fascinatingly enough.

It's one of these places that doesn't know where it is, mostly north of the Thames making it Middlesex, Twickenham postcode, and I think it may be a unitary authority

Strange, because if you put Staines, Berkshire into google, it gives you a load of addresses in TW19.

Wraysbury is in Berks, Egham is in Surrey. They both adjoin Staines but I don't think Staines has ever been in Berks, it doesn't ever get mentioned on Radio Berkshire other than when m25 j13 is buggered up.

I'll admit to Slough being in Berks, even though it always used to be in Bucks

Always had staines down as Middlesex

 

But then my map in my office showing such also shows Middlesex as being split with an isolated bit on it's own....
