January 13, 201313 yr One of Eagles' best qualities is alway wanting the ball and not hiding but I thought he was poor yesterday Decision making woeful in the main; held on to the ball far too long consistently; positioning poor, particularly when he was on the left, making Alonso's job to pick a pass more difficult; not chasing his man back; bottling at least 2 tackles....again And all with an air of "I'm too good for this" You get the impression he only keeps wanting it so he can fuck about with it and/or shoot, rather than because he wants to take the game by the scruff of the neck. I.e. for HIM not BWFC He's doing my head in to be honest Edited January 13, 201313 yr by jules_darby
January 13, 201313 yr i feel for him as much as i can have sympathy for 20 something millionaires its hardly like theres options galore when he gets the ball
January 13, 201313 yr i feel for him as much as i can have sympathy for 20 something millionaires its hardly like theres options galore when he gets the ball Numerous times yesterday there was and his first thought was to see if he could beat a man or shoot first Keeping it too long and moving it slowly is a common theme this season though for the lot of 'em Seemingly until the last 5 mins at home were we decide to become urgent Odd
January 13, 201313 yr who are these options tho? theres little to nowt ever created by the feet of spearing, andrews and kevin davies no mobility no nowt i'd double up on eagles all day long as an oppo manager mark davies coming back might help him, but fook knows where we fit him in! a midfield 4 of a fully fit holden, davies, lee and eagles would surely match owt in the league, talent wise
January 13, 201313 yr i feel for him as much as i can have sympathy for 20 something millionaires its hardly like theres options galore when he gets the ball he wouldn't know about options, he doesn't look Except when he does and misplaces the pass He ain't good
January 13, 201313 yr he wouldn't know about options, he doesn't look Except when he does and misplaces the pass He ain't good You're getting like Anewman was/is with Coyle.
January 13, 201313 yr Just like my post was I don't think its just a Bolton thing but when it's decided they don't like a player or manager then that's it, no swaying. As I say, it's my opinion, but an open mind isn't always a bad thing, That was my observation

January 13, 201313 yr With your open mind, just watch what he achieves and report back I do and I will.
January 13, 201313 yr At times this season he was top quality - unplayable; but that appears to have made him think he can always do it on his own..... And the more he's tried that, the worse he's got
January 13, 201313 yr At times this season he was top quality - unplayable; but that appears to have made him think he can always do it on his own..... And the more he's tried that, the worse he's got I agree. He's not shit. I'm not sure what's up, and I couldn't understand some of his play yesterday, it's a team game Christopher.
January 13, 201313 yr Statistically all he does is give the ball back whether its shooting or his general contribution. He seriously misbalances the team when he goes on his wonders. The secret footballer mentions he knows of players that are just interested in being top of pro zone stats, I seriously think Eagles is one as he runs a lot but its all fooking pointless and his love of shooting only backs up my thinking.
January 13, 201313 yr Coyles biggest problem was not doing like for like Ie repeatedly taking of mamba and leaving no tackle in the middle The way we finished yesterday with 4 forwards on was very coyle as well Not as I remember it Winger off, winger on Striker off, striker on 442 when defending a lead, 442 when chasing a game
January 14, 201313 yr Not as I remember it Winger off, winger on Striker off, striker on 442 when defending a lead, 442 when chasing a game Did he ever subsitute a defender?
January 17, 201313 yr he wouldn't know about options, he doesn't look Except when he does and misplaces the pass He ain't good two very good balls in the build up to both goals v sunderland maybe he's been told to look
January 17, 201313 yr maybe the other fcukers have been told to run that ball on the second was proper threaded thru, but would've been nothing without mears run
January 17, 201313 yr good point, clearly he has spotted Partley's run on the first either way signs of an improement in general team play, all round
January 17, 201313 yr Did he ever subsitute a defender? :: No point, as that would be a non-impact sub.
