Daughters 21st next month, going to pay for a show in London with hotel 13 July any ideas where to stay and where is best place to get tickets? Cheers in advance luvvies.

Went to watch 'We Will Rock You' at the Dominion theatre on Tottenham Court Road when we were at Palace in January, we stayed at Ambassadors Hotel in Bloomsbury - a decent hotel, 5 min walk from Euston and only 1 or 2 stops from T.C.R

Have a look on the tkts website, they have a booth on Leicester Square, and do tickets around half price on the day. However... you'll be lucky to get a bargain on the v popular shows from anyone.

We went to see Grease at the Piccadilly theatre down there a couple of years ago.

 

Bought direct from the theatre,then at various ticket outlets on the high street in the day running up to it were selling then for half the price.

 

Cracking pub next to the theatre called the Devonshire arms.

 

Got absolutely banjod in there.

Personally, I'd get down and then go to a ticket booth, any will do, but there's two on Piccadilly Circus next to the cinema that'll do. Ask for on the day tickets. These are seats that aren't shifting and the agents whack them down to sell them.

 

For WWRY, Lion King then you'll have to pay as they don't discount, well Disney certainly doesn't.

 

The Commitments musical was doing cheap deals for previews, not sure if its still in Preview period though.

This is what me and Mrs CWP always do, we've never not got tickets for a show that we want to watch. As Crawley mentions, some of the big shows you can't get a discount for, buit some of the other shows are offering up to 50% off cost price.

 

As for getting a hotel, if we're staying mover we often go on lastminute.com and book the "secrect hotels" - you can select just to look for them in Theatreland and Convent Garden area, that's what we usually do and we've never had a bad one yet, but generally expect to pay around £100 for the night. The good thing about staying in the afore mentioned areas is that you don't have to fanny about with taxis or the tube after the show and can just get bladdered in/around Leicester Square

It's a shame Disney don't ever do comps, my mrs has done the pr on the show for 18 months and only seen it once.

 

There's a great bar called Christopher's on Wellington st opposite the Lyceum Theatre, great for a pre theatre drink.

Went on Last Minute last weekend and there were 8 hotels, ranging from £500 a night upwards, so googled endlessly, to end up in a shithole in Crystal Palace
