Hurghada Egypt

After 3 years without a holiday decided to to book a weeks all inclusive at the Grand Makadi in Hurghada Egypt, go next Friday. Got it for £430 with an upgrade in room to a junior suite. Its 40C out there at the minute but we like it hot.

Made use of all the past threads on here so thanks guys.

From what i've read on trip advisors and talking to one friend whose been, it will probably be a hotel hol only with one trip to an island for snorkelling. Suits me though.

Did that hotel 3 years ago on an all inclusive. Enjoyed it. There were two hotels. A family one at couples one. We we're made up to be in the quieter couples one. The junior suite is good.

Enjoyed it. If you go into the town, the south area is a shit hole. The north where the pedestrian area is is areet.

Oh and its red hot!!!!

There is a big mall in Hurghada but probably wouldn't walk the streets too much. Thought it looked a bit dusty and ropey. The hotels are great though. Can't beat a nice can of Luxor Beer.

Don't touch the money, drink anything or eat anything.

You'll be fine.

I have to been to fine Chinese, South African and Agentinian shitholes as well as some choice Malaysian backwaters. I got the shits in all of em but it never stopped my enjoyment.... it sure will not stop this one.... absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Just take some pocket hand wash with you and you'll be find.

Gumbo.....the maximus of holiday destinations!

Don't touch the money and don't let any Camels suck you off

If you stick to those two rules you won't end up shitting through the eye of a pyrimid

Oh and don't eat anything either

We stayed at the Makadi Palace next door about 3 years ago. You used to be able to use the facilites of both hotels but they restricted the restaurants if you stayed at the Grand Makadi.

Oh and its hot!

I hear the US has warned Americans not to travel to Egypt today

Because they're fucking cowards and generally disliked by everyone in the region.

Well thanks for all the wways lads and lassies for recomending Egypt. Probably the best value for money holiday we have ever had. did not see a single wisp of a cloud for all of the 7 days. Hotel was great, Egyptians were great and the food was fab. The hotel we were catered for people who liked lebanese / greek type food, if you liked "bulk" like british dishes that the spanish all inclusive serve then you would be disappointed.

We had a few gypy tummy like days but no more than we have experienced in mexico, greece or spain. this was because of too much sun and booze! trouble is my fellow hotel guests did the same and it was always put down to the food or lack of hygiene which is bollocks!

will go back at the first opportunity.

ps managed to somehow leave £130 in Egyptian currency in the room when we left, the cleaner handed it in and the coach takin us to the airport turned back and the management handed it back. fuckin amazing from a guy that only earns  £15 per week!!
