Everton have done so well out of all this. Martinez will take them onto another level and more pleasant to watch. Sold Fellaini for stupid money and kept Baines who was the better player.

Funny the amount of fans saying this now, when it happened most, even on here for some bizarre reason people predicted Everton to go down. Madness.

Just shows how clueless some people actually are (or blinded by hatred) !

Funny the amount of fans saying this now, when it happened most, even on here for some bizarre reason really predicted Everton to go down. Madness.

Thought this thread was about DMB's, not the 'Britain's Most Deluded'.

We have half a dozen filth in our scooter club. Bleating yesterday morning about Moyes and 'lack of attacking ambition'.

I told them they need to give the lad time to settle in. Just give him time and he'll have them challenging for a Europa Cup spot.

Living it and loving it.

No need to be a preki about it!

one of the scousers at work said moyes in an interview was aiming for a top 4 finish.   is this true or just scouse humour/lack of humour ?

if true, then i imagine those twats from 10 miles down the road and 200 miles down the M6,M1 and across the Irish sea will be spitting their prawn sandwiches all over

This is a great read :

Best bit

"Moyes learned of his accession after doing a largely decent but entirely believable job at Everton"

What I want to read is "Oh yes, the media wee worng, the Everton fans that watched him for 11 years, are right"

If you want to read that then you will have to wait until Little Whitt starts writing for the Evening News.

Ten minutes after hell freezes over.

Let's see where Martinez has you in 2-3 years I would not be suprised if the solid work done by Moyes is undone by then, I don't buy the bullshit that is Martinez lets see him earn his corn when the chips are down and the Everton fans start to sharpen their knifes.

Time will certainly tell. But so far, so good.

Moyes did no miracles at Everton.

We've been there the grass ain't always greener and I think in general Everton punched over their weight with Moyes in charge I would put my mortgage on Martinez not getting anywhere near the consistency of Moyes, it's still a honeymoon period but I'm one of the few not convinced by Martinez media friendly style.

No, we didn't punch above our weight at all. Thats what Moyes himself playing with the media, and many people just swallowed that up, usually people that cant think for themselves. He is doing the same now at United, trying to lower people's expectations.

We finished were we should, and by that I mean we pay high wages, so we should finish high. The year we finished 4th, was the over-achievement.

The last couple of season, he held us back.

We have more international players than most in the prem, so we should be at the higher end of the prem, If Martinez consistently fails to get us their, he will be gone.

Moyes did ok, without doing superb.

Can't agree with that Moyes did a great job, Martinez won't match Moyes consistency in my opinion. Time will tell.

He did a good job, to a degree. A great job would be winning a trophy.

I don't like this new thing about what success is, as people have all sorts of bizarre idea's of success.

Success is winning a pot, cup or trophy.

Finishing in the top 8 is not success, and in time, the last 11 years wont mean a thing.

Many, many Everton fans wanted Moyes gone a while ago.

He was most Everton fans hero

You don't have the budget to win a trophy unless you get a little bit of luck, any top 8 finish for you is as good as winning the league for the likes of Man U.

Man united fans would be delighted to finish in the top half, well i would be like, mind.

See Swansea, Wigan & Birmingham for Cup wins.

You don't need luck, you need the manager to have balls.

Do you know what is as good as winning a league ???? WINNING A LEAGUE.

BTW....you have well and truly got a bite.

GRRR if you like

All 3 named clubs got very lucky for one reason or another, sometimes the truth is painful you are sadly an also ran in the this money mad era top half for you is success.

So 1 minute you need loads of money, so we pick 3 teams that prove that wrong and now they were lucky.

I'm not surprised you don't know what success actually means.

That's enough talk about Everton for this Millenium off for a shower now.

I win.

I win.

You and I know that's 3-0 to me, sweet success. :)
