re burnley - how long has it taken to rid themselves of coyles 'legacy'

That's a very good point.

Being (unfortunately) closer to them, I see/hear a bit more than some of you might. When Howe came in, the place was a shambles from academy upwards. Many of the youth coaches left with Coyle or just after and they started a slow rebuild. Howe wasn't entirely popular at first, as he carried the can for Coyle's mess and he told the local press that he'd inherited the most unfit set of footballers he'd ever seen, but things improved behind the scenes and it seemed unfortunate that he never really settled up North.

The call to go back to Bournemouth came, he went and did well there too and Burnley appointed Dyche who has instilled some discipline, backbone and a team ethic to the good work started by Howe.

When Mr F retired i told a Utd fan i work with that no matter what Fergie has achieved for you over the years he's well and truely left you in the shit, he could see the squad was lucky to win the league last year as the standard fell well below it's normal level and that all the other "big clubs" were going to invest heavily this season and Utd weren't, he'd taken the championship back off his "noisy neighbours" and on doing that retired a hero whist Mr F was looking after Mr F as usual and dropping Moyes well and truely in the smelly stuff but the deluded fuckwits don't see that

Oh and long may it continue

Said similar to a few reds in the eagle the other week.

They have been lacking a spark in midfield for years.

The center backs are a spent force and the likes of jones and Evans wouldn't get in any other of the top 4.

Moyes just made it all worse by spunking half their budget on a clogger that wouldn't look out of place paying for stoke of old.

'Coyles legacy' was to leave them in the Premier League.

That's the biggest cliche in the book. Are our players any fitter now than when Coyle left?

if we'd sacked him soon enough, he could've said the same about bolton

instead he took us further down the league than any other manager in my lifetime

Brian Laws took over Burnley after Coyle, not sure how Eddie Howe can point the finger at Coyle?

Everton have done so well out of all this. Martinez will take them onto another level and more pleasant to watch. Sold Fellaini for stupid money and kept Baines who was the better player.
