think its time I got back on the property ladder now my divorce is finalised, however, because I have a car on finance that makes a difference of around 50k on the amount banks will offer, fuckin outrageous, I could afford repayments on a decent amount but cant get it and I refuse to live in farnworth

We came within a whisker of taking a mortgage out on a house just before Christmas but it fell through at the last minute due to our mortgage company being "miss informed".

 

We understood it that you need say 20% for a deposit,you put 5% deposit down,the government loan you the other 15% and your repayments reflect a 20% deposit.

 

Wrong,the repayment reflect the 5% you put down therefore in our case putting the repayments up £200 per month,which would have skint us.

 

And the aforementioned 'loan' isn't a loan either,it's a guarantee.

Certainly wasn't sold to the general population like that. I know another lad who posts on here occasionally was looking to use that.
