Apparently people being able to spend their own money is "reckless and irresponsible" and he is worried about "who then picks up the tab?".

Who picked it up last time you reckless, irresponsible twat?

getting sussed out these cunts

All his promises of spreading the wealth should they be elected (but not likely ) are to be funded by taxing the bankers bonuses. Everything! Every time he comes up with a new spending proposal it's to be funded this way. It would seem then, that he's quite happy to continue with the capitalistic reward system that he's been deriding ever since he became an opposition mp. Tit!

All opposition parties chat bullshit boby, it's there perogative

Remember back to the last election, the difference between the Labour vs Tory cuts was £6b. Osbourne & Cameron were telling anyone who would listen that if we didn't cut the extra £6b then we would end up exactly like Greece. Greece for fucks sake, a complete basket case!!

Sure as eggs are eggs folk believed it even though we were fucking trillions off becoming Greece.

Less than a year later they pulled £9b out of there arse to bail Ireland out with. Guess what didn't happen even though we spent this extra £9b?

We didn't end up like Greece

The mistake you're making is the same as mistaking debt and deficit.

But in the broad point that this government hasn't actually cut things very severely on quickly, true. 1% a year tightening on a deficit is pretty measured (certainly when your start point is 8% in the shit).

Nope - they are human and have human frailties. What would you suggest replaces the greatest political system on the planet? Anarchy perhaps? The biggest cunt with the biggest gun takes all, rules all?

Maybe you are a proponent of some form of dictatorial regime where at least you know what to expect and are not surprised when you get it?

Folk have fought and died for the right to vote and yet you piss the right away? As a great believer in freedom of speech and thought however, I would strongly support your right not to vote. Democracy is ace innit?

It's just I don't like being told how to live by a bunch of toffs who've never lived a day of how they're telling us to live . This country maybe labelled a democracy but its anything but.  Politics don't mean anything anymore. If it's Labour or the Tories in power you'll be no better off

Obviously, that's bollocks.

If you're not working, Labour instinctively wish to give you more money than the Tories want to.

If you're working, the Tories instinctively want to let you keep more of the money you earn.

And either way, Labour instinctively wish to spend more money on public services.

Over the course of 5 budgets, the marginal differences add up very quickly.

Anyone see John Redwood's 45 minute lecture on Economics this week?

He covered the folly of joining the ERM, and the pretence of an independent Central Bank, and then dealt with benefits resulting from privatisation - not least on workers' attitudes to companies in which they became part-owners.

An NFC driver was quoted as sayimng that previously he arrived for work around his starting time, and if his lorry wouldn't start gave it a kick and told the boss he couldn't go out that day. Nowadays he gets in early, checks his lorry is OK, sorts any problem, gives it a bit of a polish if he has time and then goes about his business.

The mistake you're making is the same as mistaking debt and deficit.

The main point I was making is that we are a million mikes away from being an economy like Greece. Not £6b like Osbourme & Cameron said when they tried to scaremonger their way into power at the last election (they still didn't manage a majority either, deary me)

The Conservative poll lead collapsed right when they started scaring the horses by telling the truth about the situation we're in, so your scaremongering pet theory doesn't really survive contact with the facts.

Sadly for aficionados of Labour spending binges, we're still at least 10 years away from being in a position where they can go fucking nuts again.

So you believe that we were a meagre £6b off becoming "exactly like Greece" then?

If so that's pretty deluded, as bad as it is / was its far from a fucking Greece.

You still haven't understood the difference between a debt and deficit.

Our deficit was, and is, directly comparable to Greece. The difference is we have an independent central bank who will buy up as much debt as we want to issue.

Anyone who thinks that is a painless way out of the problem clearly believes money grows on trees. In the real world, there has just been a mass transfer from savers to borrowers, and the necessary correction in the private sector has been prevented from happening, all in the cause of making sure the horribly misshapen public sector didn't go pop.

There's no such thing as a free lunch; short term catastrophe as been bought off at significant long term cost.

After 4 years of horrible vicious, evil, baby strangling cuts, the government is still borrowing 15p of every £ it spends.

Ah right, so we are actually in as deep shit as Greece then or is it just on a certain % metric?

Osbourne & Cameron made out like it would be exactly like Greece, depression IMF the lot

Just enjoy the simple facts and stop looking for negatives.

You're clearly a red rag so you'll find it hard to swallow. The economy is improving because Conservative governments always, always, always do the right thing no matter how hard and unpalatable it is. Right now you have a case in point.

You now have mega companies from around the world wanting to relocate and build significant businesses there. That is enough of an indicator for me.

Silly cunts like Ed the Balls will continue to criticise because it is all they know how to do (well, that and spunk your childrens inheritance).

Gain a lot more respect for a political party, if they actually backed a policy rather than argue and ridicule for arguments sake..

but then politics wouldn't be politics !

I am still waiting to hear how Labour would cut the deficit. ( apart from raise taxes)

They have argued against every measure that the coalition have put in place.

Labour don't do cutting deficits

Spending others money is their DNA.
