Yeah but he didn't fly into 50-50s, so he was shit. Obviously.

He was shit because he flattered to deceive

Aye & Chungy was finished, Mills was a donkey, C Davies a useless fat cunt & Pratley a headless chicken.

I genuinely can't believe people believe he did anything. In a season where he passed to no one he bagged an amazing 12 goals. He's a shoe in for the ballon d'or!

I worry for them that didn't seem to have an issue with him prancing round in a Bolton shirt!!!!

Let's bring back all the players that we've let go recently then

Or let's just go on spouting bollocks about flattering to deceive... he may not have been everyone's cup of tea ( & I understand why) but he was far & away our most productive player during that season. Fwiw, I take the same stand as on any potential signing.... If Lennon rates him then that's good enough for me.

He didn't pass and shot from anywhere. A 1/100 conversion rate and 1200 shots=

I'm not spouting bollocks; he was very effective on very rare occasions; hence flattering to deceive

If he was effective regularly he'd not have been without a club for so long and then offered that shit deal at Blackpool

Irrespective of the non-tackling stuff, he didn't have a major impact on games enough and often made bad decisions with the ball

Chris Eagles was the icing on the turd

His goals & assists suggest otherwise. I can see ( actually agree with) many of the criticisms of him but let's not rewrite history. For all his faults he was for me & quite a few others, our player of the season. I'm not championing for him to be brought back but if he was I'd back Lennon to get him playing at his best.

See at the moment Lennon as got us playing as a team, I dont think Eagles has that in him, hes not the one to track back and put the work in , not just to tackle the man but just to give his full back time to get himself set, for me Eagles is about Eagles and at the moment the players we've have on the field now are about Bolton and that comes comes Lennon

You are taking about 2 seasons ago, not 1

And I'm not rewriting history; with him as the centrepeice of the team, we only galvanised a run when we signed Dawson; therefore whatever Eagles did, simply wasn't good enough or consistent enough to get us promoted or in the play offs.

Just because he was top scorer and assists doesn't mean he was great all the time as it doesn't take into account opportunity cost.

Pretty simple really

On his day he is superb but overall we are better without him Irrespective of the Manager IMO

My point is that in that season he was pretty consistent & had the knack of coming up with the goods at vital times. I agree wholeheartedly about his team ethic & I'm sure we can find players more suited to our new team spirit. I would however back our manager to get Eagles to fall in with that if he ever decided to sign him....though I doubt that will happen.

Let's agree to go with whatever Lenny does ;)

It won't happen end of

If Lenny signed Ali Dia I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I can't hate him just for that winner against Blackburn, the whole stadium went ballistic.
