May 5, 201511 yr on phone waiting to speak to an advisor ust to tell them that I no longer need to fill out a annual return. I'm sick of tell them , 7 years and counting
May 5, 201511 yr Author I'm sick of tell them , 7 years and counting 44 mins in total, for somat that took under 3 mins once they answered.
May 5, 201511 yr on phone waiting to speak to an advisor just to tell them that I no longer need to fill out a annual return. Can you not do that on line via email?
May 5, 201511 yr Can you not do that on line via email? Dont know about email, you can do via the web page ... but then its takes about 3 weeks and you get an email telling you that they cant sort it out could you please call, whats the fucking point.
May 5, 201511 yr Author Did they have their usual moan about "cuts"? Nah! but TBH I didn't complain and just got on with telling her what I wanted so I could get off the phone. Cannot do it either online or by email as they have to rhyme off 20 or so questions. You have to speak to an advisor to get struck off.
May 5, 201511 yr Are you by any chance a transgender Tory local election candidate? http://m.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/12930613.Tory_candidate_accused_of_sending_series_of__foul_and_abusive__tweets/
May 5, 201511 yr I've been chasing them for a £1k rebate 'working from home flat rate allowance' It's taken them since November to get back to me with a questionnaire that they need filling out to move this forward They are a complete disgrace
May 5, 201511 yr I'm having terrible trouble with a customs bloke over bonded warehouses. He refuses to answer calls, it must all be by email, in a certain font and no yellow in any spreadsheet due to his sensitivity to that colour. Civil servants, they're a strange bunch.
May 5, 201511 yr I've been chasing them for a £1k rebate 'working from home flat rate allowance' It's taken them since November to get back to me with a questionnaire that they need filling out to move this forward They are a complete disgrace Yes they are, and useless too boot. Last time I had the issue with self-assessment, I wrote and told them that me and the wife had both been out of the UK for 5 years , so they sent me those 5 years off forms , one for each year in a separate envelope , so that was 10 envelopes they sent to the US, so I could write zero 10 times, I sent each one back in the accompanying per paid envelopes , madness
May 5, 201511 yr I've been chasing them for a £1k rebate 'working from home flat rate allowance' It's taken them since November to get back to me with a questionnaire that they need filling out to move this forward They are a complete disgrace Thought it was £4 a week allowable deduction without any supporting paper work? So 80p tax saving a week if your a basic rate payer? That's one hell of a rebate though fair play for getting it, if you ever do.
May 5, 201511 yr £4 per week for the last 2 years, £3 per week before that My understanding from a conversation with them that kicked this all off was that I would get the full £4 per week, not the tax back from that figure (so £4 per week and not £1.60 - 40% rate payer) This must be correct as the only thing the have pushed back on is that I'm claiming for 52 weeks (£208)per year when I would have had holidays - I wish they had explained this back in September when it all started
May 5, 201511 yr hold on a minute.....I might be missing out here. I've worked from home for at least 2 days a week for the last 10+ years - is there some sort of claim to be had?
May 5, 201511 yr I'd be surprised if you could backdate a claim for five years let alone ten. I'd also be surprised if they would refund the amount you could have claimed rather than simply adjusting the tax you should have paid. If you're a higher rate taxpayer, i wouldn't have thought claiming £150-£200 quid a year extra, would make much difference to your overall bill.
May 5, 201511 yr I've got the paperwork in front of me now - the limit that you can claim back is 4 years although they are going to do 5 for me as it was that bloody long a go that I sent it in originally they will accept it My understanding from speaking to them is that I will get the £4 per week (last 2 years, £3 per week previously) circa 50 weeks a year back in my hand. If it's just a case that they will adjust my tax band to incorporate it then in going to hit the fucking roof Set of bastards have sent me on a right goose chase!!
May 5, 201511 yr hold on a minute.....I might be missing out here. I've worked from home for at least 2 days a week for the last 10+ years - is there some sort of claim to be had? And I work almost 2 days a week at home. I should try to get my tax bill reduced.
May 5, 201511 yr Although they managed to send me a letter asking for forty two thousand pounds easily enough last month. This is the same HMRC WHOSE OWN RULES make it impossible for me to pay income tax, even if I wanted to. Which I don't. My accountant says I should be expecting a cheque instead. Good girl.
